Last month, Simple Plan performed in Lyon, France at the Longlive Rockfest and before their show they also held an autograph session at the festival grounds. Check out some newly released shots from this signing in the gallery:

Yesterday we brought the news that Simple Plan would be announcing their upcoming tour across Canada and the U.S. next week and today we finally have the confirmation that the tour announcement is in fact coming on Monday already!
Both Jeff and Simple Plan announced so on their Instagram and while Simple Plan are still playing guessing games with the fans what the announcement could be, Jeff is already happily posting about the fact that it’s a tour announcement regarding the U.S. and Canada. But at least Simple Plan accompanied the announcement of the Monday announcement with a cool new black & white photoshoot from Europe, taken by Chady. Check it out:
There may be something more than just tourdates to the Monday announcement, though. It’s fair to assume that along with that the band will also announce the opening band for this tour. And here’s where some simple maths and a little detective work come in: from the band’s behavior on social media in the past few days, where they’ve been paying a lot of attention to the Canadian band Story Untold (formerly known as Amasic), lead by singer Janick Thibault, it’s highly probable that their could be Simple Plan’s new opening band for this tour. Coincidentally, Story Untold also have a “huge tour announcement” for their fans coming up this Monday – and Simple Plan’s official Twitter have favorited their tweet announcing this. Let’s see what the official confirmation on Monday brings!

After months spent in Europe, it’s finally time for the homeland Canada and the neighbouring United States to get some Simple Plan love! Even though Simple Plan are currently in the midst of their acoustic promo tour in the United States and have a couple of Canadian festivals scheduled for the summer, they still have some stuff up their sleeves concerning these two countries. And by stuff I mean regular full-on tours!
As we’re heard mentioned in various interviews and on social media in the past few weeks, Simple Plan are planning on heading back to Canada and the U.S. this fall and according to Jeff’s tweet yesterday, we may finally expect some tour announcements next week! Check out what Jeff wrote below:
Big news for Simple Plan concerning Canada and the US. Keep your ears to the ground next week.
— Jeff Stinco (@jeffstinco) June 17, 2016
This will be a big return of Simple Plan in both countries. While Simple Plan have played in numerous places in Canada over the past few years, their last full-on Canadian tour was back in 2012, when they had Marianas Trench, All Time Low and These Kids Wear Crowns open for them. In the U.S., apart from a few appearance on Warped Tour, the last time Simple Plan toured properly was in 2011.
Simple Plan will be heading back to the USA for the second run of their acoustic sets for U.S. radios next Wednesday and more and more events keep being announced!
So far it looks like Simple Plan have at least 9 acoustic stops planned for this over-a-week-long trip – so let’s check out the 4 new additions:
After Orlando and Tampa, Simple Plan will also head to Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, where they’re scheduled to perform at 97.9 WRMF’s Dirty Martini event on June 24th. The band will be taking over the stage at 8:30pm.
On the same day (June 28th) that SP will be performing at the Mix 94.7’s Get to Know Show, the boys will also head to the coast to play at The Beach 96.5’s Fajitaville on the Beach event in Fajitaville, TX.
The remaining two dates will also keep Simple Plan in Texas. On June 30th, the band will perform acoustically in Dallas, TX at KVIL’s Simple Plan showroom. The next day, July 1st, will take SP to Tyler, TX, where they’ll play at Mix 93.1’s Mix Lounge. The only way to attend these events is to win an entry through each radio station.

With regard to this past weekend’s tragedy in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people lost their lives in a shooting at a gay night club Pulse, Mix 105.1 – the radio station that organizes next Thursday’s acoustic show feauring Simple Plan, MAGIC! and Ingrid Michaelson – decided to use this event to help in the aftermath of this tragedy.
It was announced that a portion of each ticket sold for Mix 105.1’s Acoustic Summer event, which will be taking place at House of Blues in Orlando, FL on June 23rd will be forwarded to the One Orlando fund. This fund was established by Orlando’s Mayor Buddy Dyer in the wake of the Pulse shooting. The purpose of One Orlando is to provide a way to help and support to nonprofits supporting the victims and families, the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other affected communities, the underlying causes of this tragic event and other related needs.
If you missed it, here‘s an article summing up Simple Plan member’s reactions to the Orlando tragedy.
