Singing In The Rain climbs up to #35 on Hot AC chart

And we’re back with this week’s reports from Mediabase, which tell us how Simple Plan are doing on the U.S. music charts lately. 3 weeks ago Simple Plan reached TOP 40 on the Hot AC (adult contemporary) chart and their single Singing In The Rain still doesn’t show any signs of weekness.

This past week (June 7th to June 13th) it finally reached position #35 with 628 spins on U.S. Hot AC radios, which is 110 more than the previous week (only 518 spins). It is expected that thanks to the band’s promo tour in the U.S. radio stations, which took place this week, the single will be played a lot more and next week’s results could show an even bigger jump.

Besides the single, Simple Plan’s new album ‘Taking One For The Team’ is also still keeping it’s steady position among the TOP 50 Hot AC albums in the U.S., currently at #49.

Simple Plan performed on a bus in Wilmington

Simple Plan’s last appearance on the first part of their mini acoustic promo tour in the U.S. took place in Wilmington, DE yesterday. The boys firstly performed at the radio station 93.7 WSTW but then headed out to the station’s new ‘Band On The Bus’ experience, where they literally performed on a bus to a number of spectators.

Check out their bus performance of ‘Can’t Keep My Hands Of You’ on the video below:

The radio station also already published over 100 photos from Simple Plan’s appearance in Wilmington, which you can now view in the gallery:

Simple Plan add an acoustic performance in Texas

Yesterday Simple Plan finished the first part of their mini acoustic promo tour around the U.S. radio station and headed home for 6 days to get some rest before they head back to the U.S. for some more acoustic sets. And they just added another one!

The four members of SP (Chuck most probably won’t attend the second half of this run either) will be visiting Austin, TX on June 28th! Tickets for the private performance can be won at the Mix 94.7 radio.

Simple Plan among AP’s TOP 10 most influential pop punk bands

In their latest article, Alternative Press, one of the most respected music magazines of the alternative music scene, named the TOP 10 most influential pop punk bands, which shaped today’s pop punk other other styles of music. It surely was very hard to narrow down all the incredible pop punk acts into a list of only 10, but still, the writers of Alternative Press couldn’t forget to include Simple Plan, who have been one of the most persistent bands on this scene for over 17 years (14 years, if we could from the year of their debut album’s release).

Check out Alternative Press’ reasoning for including Simple Plan in the list that also features Sum 41, MXPX, Blink 182, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, Yellowcard and Fall Out Boy:

Simple Plan

“These Canadian natives hit the scene hard with their debut, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls. While the album titles have gotten a tad more mature, their music still sounds made for every summer vacation. And now, 14 years into their career, they’re collabing with…Nelly? Yeah, you read that right. Just goes to show Simple Plan aren’t afraid to take risks and still keep coming out with awesome pop-influence albums.”
