Exclusive look into today’s SP performance at DC Lottery Live

Simple Plan took their acoustic tour up north today – to the capital city of the United States – Washington D.C., where they performed acoustically at the DC Lottery Live event for 94.7 Fresh FM at 2pm. Our reader Adéla was there and sent us some inside scoops and pictures from this event!

The boys performed a short, about half-an-hour long acoustic set, which included Addicted, I’d Do Anything, Welcome To My Life, Singing In The Rain and obviously also Perfect. You can check out how the band performed their latest single Singing In The Rain on the video below:

During the set, the four band members also tried to entertain the attendees. In the beginning, David pretended to be playing drums and the rest were trying to guess which songs he was playing – apparently Pierre was really good at this guessing game. At another moment, Pierre introduced Jeff’s guitar solo, at which point Jeff’s guitar stopped playing. Sebastien also revealed that they are using his baby girl’s red toy tambourine, because “it’s better than the regular one”. The band also re-confirmed theirtour across the U.S., which will take place this fall.

And finally, here are the promised pictures from this DC Lottery Live – big thanks again to Adéla:

Simple Plan perform first two acoustic shows in Virginia + meet with Marianas Trench

After many years, on June 12th, Simple Plan returned to the United States, where they started their short promo acoustic mini-tour, during which they’ll perform in the states of Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and also in Washington D.C. Yesterday, the four band members [missing Chuck, who as a drummer doesn’t tend to play at his band’s acoustic shows] played the first two acoustic sets.

The first one took place in he early afternoon at the Williamsburg Winery in Virginia, where Simple Plan performed at the Uncorcked and Unplugged event. Besides them, another Canadian band and SP’s friends Marianas Trench were playing at the event too. You may remember Marianas Trench as one of the three opening bands on Simple Plan’s Canadian GYHO tour in 2012. This reunion resulted in the following gorgeous photo of all the band members together:

In the evening, Simple Plan jumped into the car and moved to Richmond, Virginia, where they were scheduled to play at the Kabana Rooftop, at the Sunday Funday event organized by the 103.7 Play radio station. At both Sunday shows, SP’s setlist mostly included their old hits, such as Addicted, Welcome To My Life, I’d Do Anything or Perfect

CONFIRMED: Chuck not present at acoustic set in Virginia

Simple Plan are kicking off their acoustic set at the Williamsburg Winery in Virginia any minute now, but those attendees who know SP might notice there is a one key player missing – Chuck Comeau. Of course, his reasoning is simple – there is not much for him to do, as a drummer, at an acoustic set. It is highly unlikely that he will be joining his bandmates for the rest of the acoustic run. Don’t worry though, he will deifnitely be back for regular full-on shows that the band is playing in the summer in Canada and Mexico.

Meanwhile, check out the newly released picture of Pierre, David, Seb and Jeff at one of the tents at the Williamsburg Winery today greeting the guests today:

PHOTO: Simple Plan soundcheck for first U.S. acoustic promo show

Simple Plan arrived to Virginia last night, where today they will be kicking off their short stay in the U.S., which will be filled with a number of acoustic perfomances for radio stations. It has still not been confirmed whether Chuck, as a drummer, would be attending this acoustic tour.

Below, you can check out the first image from this morning’s soundcheck for the Uncorcked and Unplugged event at the Williamsburg Winery in Williamsburg, Virginia. You can spot Pierre, David and Jeff practicing their set on the stage. Another picture from this event which Jeff posted on Instagram also features Seb. Check them out:
