Curiosity: Band themed ‘promposal’ featuring Simple Plan

There’s been a few band related marriage proposals in the past, some of them even happening on the stage, but we don’t often hear about the other kind of proposals that’s getting more and more popular and more creative each year – proposals to high school proms, a.k.a. ‘promposals’.

Douglas, who is a senior at a high school in Orlando, FL, recently asked his girlfriend to accompany him to their high school prom with a very unique sign that he posted on Instagram. On this sign, he very creatively put together six band names into a message to his girlfriend that said: ‘I’m Falling In Reverse as you can see, you Bring Me The Horizon between you & me, I cannot Escape The Fate that this is love, so set fire to My Chemical Romance & grant me the wish to make this Simple Plan, an amazing Day To Remember.’

When asked why he decided to ask his girlfriend to prom this way, he said: ‘It came to this moment that I wanted to ask my girlfriend out but in a much creative and different way to prom. We love bands, we’re obsessed to be honest. Music is our inspiration, a way of life that hits you in the feels and pulls you in. My girlfriend’s top favorite bands include: My Chemical Romance, Falling In Reverse, Ghost Town, Asking Alexandria, Simple Plan (of course), A Day To Remember and many more. So many guys ask out their girlfriends to prom but from what I’ve seen some are predictable or unoriginal. There is no problem with that, I just wanted my promposal to be more personal and meaningful. I love to write poetry and lyrics so that also definitely sparked the idea to create the band promposal.

His girlfriend surely agreed this was a very cool way how to ask one out for prom and she obviously said yes. Let’s all wish them a nice prom and check out Douglas’ full promposal sign below:

Jeff Stinco reveals new design for his guitar picks

In just two weeks, Simple Plan will be heading out to Europe again to kick off the second part of their European tour and Jeff is already starting to get ready to switch some things up! After months of looking for a cool new design on the next version of his guitar picks [during which he even asked for the help of his own fans], he finally asked Mathieu Beaulieu, a Montreal-based artist who you may recall from the racoon t-shirt design.

Check out Jeff’s new yellow picks below – and maybe you’ll be lucky and catch some during the upcoming shows!

Edit: The illustrator, Mathieu Beaulieu, shared the original design of this guitar pick on his Twitter today. Check it out:

‘Singing In The Rain’ single now available for requests on radios

Simple Plan’s new single ‘Singing In The Rain’, who’s music video has been out for over a week now has officially been sent out to radios this week. What that means is that you can now start requesting this song to be played at your local radio stations and help it become a hit and consequently even help bring Simple Plan to your country. The maths is easy: more spins equals more popularity, which also means a better chance for Simple Plan to set up a concert in that area.

You can request ‘Singing In The Rain’ in a number of ways:

1) First, check out your local radio station’s website – some radios have special request forms on their websites, inviting their listeners to send in song requests, which may be played on air throughout the day.

2) Secondly, you can also hit up your radio station on social media and let them know which song you would like to hear them play – try Facebook and Twitter for this option.

3) And finally, a good-old phone call is the third way how you can have your radio station play the new Simple Plan single – wait for the segments, where radio DJs ask their listeners to call in with song-requests and go and try to have them play ‘Singing In The Rain’ for your loved ones!

And it’s not just the single taking over the media – the music video for ‘Singing In The Rain’ is also slowly making its way to music channels. The Czech TV Óčko, for instance, has already started playing it during the day [see the image Eliška took during today’s broadcast!]. It is expected that the video should be put up in the Óčko chart (a weekly music video chart fans can vote on) very soon.
