Simple Plan confirm return to Rome and Turin in May

Just as it was teased by the promoters a few days ago, more good news are coming up for Italy when it comes to Simple Plan!

Thanks to Angy, who attended Simple Plan’s concert in Bologna, Italy last night, we now know that Pierre stated that the band will indeed be returning to Italy – particularly to the cities of Rome and Turin on the second leg of their European tour, on which they will embark on in May.

No concrete dates have been revealed yet. Stay tuned for that.

Simple Plan surprised Bologna with “I Refuse” and “Astronaut”

After a day off, Simple Plan returned back to stage last night in Bologna, Italy and what a sight it was! During the soundcheck, both Pierre and Chuck sported some new Simple Plan merch again and Pierre kept it even for the show itself. At soundcheck, the guys teased the fans for the first time on this tour with the song “I Refuse”, which has slowly become many fans’ favorite, which resulted in a great mosh pit amongst soundcheck attendees.

The guys eventually added “I Refuse” to the show’s setlist, replacing “Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching” and to a big surprise to many fans, they also played “Astronaut” (without Chuck’s drums) – instead of “This Song Saved My Life”. And Nostalgic made its return in place of Farewell.

Check out the full setlist below:

Promoter teases Simple Plan’s next return to Italy

Simple Plan’s Italian tourdates are still ahead of them (this Tuesday and Wednesday in Bologna and Milan respectively), but there are already speculations about more shows in this country. Vivo Concerti, the Italian promoter company that has brought Simple Plan to Italy countless times before, now began teasing the local fans with a sponsored post on Facebook that the band may return maybe even sooner than they hoped. The message says [big thanks to Luigi for the info & translation]:

“Simple Plan tomorrow in Bologna and on Wednesday in Milan …. But will they return? Soon? Stay tuned.

This may be related to the upcoming second leg of the European tour that should kick off around May, when Simple Plan should return to some places they didn’t manage to visit during this first European run. Will the second part of the tour include for instance the capital city – Rome? We shall see. Nothing has been confirmed yet besides a small number of festival appearances in Switzerland and France.
