Simple Plan kicked off the countdown to album’s release

Simple Plan’s official website finally started the countdown to the release of the band’s new album “Taking One For The Team”, which should reveal one cool new surprise every day till February 19th! Older SP fans maz recall that a similar interactive system was introduced also for the past two albums – namely the “SP wheel” before the third album’s release and before GYHO it was the always delayed “Jet Lag Airlines” :)

Simple Plan will bring the 60s vibe back with “Singing In The Rain” music video shoot next week!

Just one day after the celebrations of their new album “Taking One For The Team” coming out, Simple Plan will head over to Toronto, Canada, where they will be filming yet another music video, for their next single – “Singing In The Rain”, which is a song that features the rap duo R. City (it is currently unknown whether the duo will be featured in the video too).

The band will be filming the video on February 20th in Toronto, ON for about 10-12 hours and they are currently in search for hundreds of fans who want to be a part of the videoshoot! If you’re in the area on the day of the shoot, make sure to sign up and maybe you’ll be chosen and star in the next SP video!

The document announcing the videoshoot also gave us a couple more clues on what we can expect from this video – most importantly – that it will be set in the 60s and have a 50s to 70s vibe, which is why the dress code of the attendees will be very important. The band shared the following two images for outfit ideas for boys and girls who are planning to attend the videoshoot to give a rough idea of what type of clothing should one come dressed in (as wardrobe will not be provided):

Simple Plan to headline SMAC festival in Switzerland in May

The promoters of the Swiss SMAC Festival, which will be taking place from May 13th to May 15th, unfolded the line-up for their first edition of this festival today! And while the first two days will feature acts such as Soprano, or Charlie Winston, on Sunday, the festival will be headlined by our very own Simple Plan.

This information comes as the second festival date in May after the announced date at Longlive Rockfest in Lyon just a few days earlier.

8 years since the release of Simple Plan’s self-titled album

Today we commemorate the 8th anniversary of the release of Simple Plan’s third – self-titled album, produced by Dave Fortman, that officialy came out on February 12th 2008.

This album, simply just titled “Simple Plan” featured 11 songs, including a number of hit singles, such as “When I’m Gone”, “Your Love Is A Lie” or “Save You”, touching various heavy topics from cheating to cancer. In Canada, the album has been certified platinum.
