State Champs release new episode of “Breakfast with Champs” feat. Pierre Bouvier

A few days ago at Warped Tour in Scranton, PA, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan was invited to take part in State Champs’ YouTube video series “Breakfast with Champs”, in which members of State Champs sit down with members from other bands, make breakfast together and casually talk about various topics.

In Pierre’s episode, the lead singer of Simple Plan was interviewed by State Champs’ lead singer Derek DiScanio and during the interview the pair made some delicious scrambled eggs together.

In the interview, which you can watch below, Pierre discussed a number of very interesting topics and even told some funny stories from back in the day. One of the stories that many of you will certainly be finally happy to hear is the recently teased story of how Pierre once ran naked through a hotel lobby in Indonesia. Pierre also talked about his time back in 2004, when he hosted the show Damage Control on MTV and revealed some spicy insights from the making of one of fans’ favorite videos – the legendary “Pierre’s Day Off”.

Besides all that, Derek himself revealed he’s been a fan of Simple Plan for a very long time, even remembering having a Simple Plan song as an alarm clock, when he was younger.

Simple Plan take a stand against the opioid crisis & help support the cause with exclusive recordings from the last Warped

Various artists on Vans Warped Tour, that is currently hitting some of its final stops in the USA this summer on its final cross-country tour, have expressed their support of the FEND movement. By spreading awareness via its new app, the FEND campaign’s goal is to inform the public about the dangers of opioids. According to FEND’s website, “over the past four years, the misuse of opioids by 15-19 year olds has dramatically increased, [and] sadly, so have drug overdose deaths. Most of these overdose deaths are accidental, and over half are caused by prescription painkillers (opioids) – opioids are also a known gateway drug to heroin.”

In a video campaign for FEND, artists from Warped touring bands such as Story Untold, Waterparks, Don Broco, Simple Plan and more discussed the importance of awareness of this issue. From Simple Plan, you can find its lead singer Pierre Bouvier appearing in the video:

And that is not where Simple Plan’s involvement with this campaign ends. In order to help raise funds for FEND to help fight the opioid crisis, Vans Warped Tour partnered up with Set.fm and together they decided to put a very special recording from the final day of Warped Tour up for sale, entitled “Vans Warped Tour – The Final Hours” with all proceeds going directly to FEND.

The recording will be featuring the last two songs from the live Warped Tour sets of each participating band on August 5th 2018 at Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL and will be available as a compilation for download within 24 hours of the final note played. The bands that will be a part of this compilation include Ice Nine Kills, In Hearts Wake, Unearth, Capstan, Doll Skin, The Maine, We The Kings, Chelsea Grin, Every Time I Die, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Kublai Khan, Tropidelic, Mayday Parade, Crown The Empire, Palaye Royale, Deez Nuts, My Children My Bride and of course Simple Plan. And since Simple Plan’s setlist has remained practically unchanged over the course of Warped Tour, we can safely say that the featured songs by SP on this special compilation will be ‘I’m Just A Kid’ and ‘Perfect’, given they are the final two songs on the band’s setlist.

So if you’d like to help a good cause and also keep a souvenir in the form of the last Warped notes, for a $20 minimum donation, you can already pre-order this special “Vans Warped Tour – The Final Hours” compilation here.

Joan Jett watched Simple Plan’s Warped Tour set in Indiana

You can always bet that every year on Warped Tour, there will be at least one surprise act that will announce his special appearance for a selected number of Warped dates. And this year, the final year, Warped Tour has been graced with the presence of the legend that is Joan Jett, who was a surprise addition only for one Warped date – the Warped show in Noblesville, IN on July 24th.

Joan Jett of course didn’t just stop at performing, she also decided to check out some of the other acts that Warped Tour has brought to Noblesville and one of the sets she came to see was Simple Plan. The guys from the band even got to hang out with her a bit backstage, which has been documented both on a few pictures [see them in the gallery here] and also on the following video, published on the band’s Instagram Stories.

Simple Plan were extremely honored to get to meet Joan Jett, as they explained in a post on Instagram:

Yep, this happened! 🙌🏻🙏🏻 Punk legend Joan Jett made a very special guest appearance at the Vans Warped Tour […] in Indiana and decided to come check our show, along with her entire Blackhearts band!

It was an amazing and surreal experience to have such a rock and roll icon and a true punk rock pioneer watch us play and we were so honored. Thank you, Joan! 🖤 You made this final Warped Tour summer even more special! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Simple Plan joined 3OH!3 on stage for ‘Don’t Trust Me’ & more video news from Warped Tour

Warped Tour still continues rolling through the United States and in the past couple of days, Simple Plan and tons of other bands visited states like Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. A lot of things have happened at these Warped shows and what else can recap these moments better for us than videos!

In this post, I’d like to point out some specific videos worth checking out, which will give you a little more insight into what went on on Warped Tour – all from very different points of view! Now, let’s get to it:

On stage with 3OH!3

Even if you’re into just one band in particular on Warped Tour, the rule is you always have to go and check out other bands’ sets as well, if only for the reason that you never know what might happen and who might appear on the stage beside them as a special surprise.

And that is exactly why the attendees of the recent 3!OH3 shows did not lose out! In the last few days, both in Detroit and Chicago (Tinley Park), some members of Simple Plan (and other bands) made a special guest appearance on the 3OH!3 stage, surprising their crowd with Sebastien’s and Chady’s guitar skills, Jess’ (The Summer Set) drumming skills and Pierre & Travis (We The Kings) also showed off their singing… and mopping skills. Below we bring you Danny Vance’s (SP’s tour manager) Instagram Stories of Pierre and Travis mopping the 3OH!3 set mid-song and on the second video, you can see them actually doing some actual proper work by joining 3OH!3 during their hit song ‘Don’t Trust Me’:

Special SP moments captured by Chady

In the past few days, Simple Plan have been applauding the incredible atmosphere that their fans have created during the shows on Warped Tour. Thanks to Chady’s camera footage, they have been able to put together some of the best moments of the most recent shows into two new videos, which you can check out below.

The first video captures a beautiful moment during ‘Perfect’ yesterday in Chicago (Tinley Park) and the second one is a mix of moments from multiple recent Warped shows to the sounds of ‘Addicted’:

Peter John’s behind the scenes of Warped vlogs

And finally, we cannot forget the person who’s kept us updated from the inside with what has the band been up to behind the scenes of Warped Tour for a while now: Peter John, the Australian filmmaker, who’s been touring with Simple Plan on Warped Tour this year and giving us little insights of their tour life.

Check out his most recent video updates (#15-#18) below:

State Champs joined Simple Plan on stage on Warped Tour in Ohio

On Wednesday night, while in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Simple Plan pulled out the big guns with their now already traditional on-stage surprise guests during ‘I’m Just A Kid’. This time around, the band invited two members of one of the most popular current pop-punk band – State Champs.

The lead singer of State Champs Derek DiScanio and bassist Ryan Scott Graham absolutely rocked the song and later on expressed their excitement over performing with Simple Plan on social media. Check out a photo of State Champs performing with Simple Plan in our gallery and of course make sue to watch the performance on the video below:
