If you’ve been following Simple Plan’s Warped Tour adventures, then you are already aware that the band decided to spice up their performances each day with a special guest appearance of one of their musician friends, who always joins them on the second half of ‘I’m Just A Kid’. So far, Simple Plan have welcomed the artists from We The Kings, 3OH!3, Tonight Alive, Bowling For Soup, Yungblud and last night, the attendees of Warped Tour in Virginia Beach were in for another exciting surprise – Awsten Knight from Waterparks.
Some of us have already previously noticed the conversation between Jeff Stinco and Awsten Knight, who immediately agreed to be a part of this once Jeff suggested it on Instagram.
Here you can check out one of the first videos that surfaced of Awsten’s appearance on I’m Just A Kid yesterday in Virginia Beach:
On Tuesday, Warped Tour has led Simple Plan all the way to Nashville, TN, where they had one new surprise in store for the local concert-goers – once again in the form of a new face gracing the Simple Plan stage with his presence right during the band’s first single ‘I’m Just A Kid’. After singers from 3OH!3, Tonight Alive, We The Kings and Bowling For Soup (all of which we have previously reported on), the band invited the 19-year-old alternative rock musician from the UK – Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) – to rock the stage with them.
There’s no doubt in our minds that YungBlud gave it all he got – after all, he even admitted on his Instagram that he used to rock out to Simple Plan in his bedroom when he was just 13 years old. Check out his ‘thank you’ to Simple Plan and also a few great videos capturing his appearance during I’m Just A Kid in Nashville (make sure to click on the right arrow to see the second video as well):
Still freaking out that Simple Plan invited me on stage to sing “I’m Just A Kid” last night! THE LAST TWO WEEKS HAVE BEEN CRAZY 😱 13 year old emo me used to blast that in my bedroom! Thank you boys, I was so happy and had the best fucking time!
After Travis Clark from We The Kings and Nate Motte from 3!OH3, Simple Plan most recently asked another two of their good singing friends to accompany them on stage during their performance of ‘I’m Just A Kid’ at Warped Tour in Texas.
In San Antonio on Saturday, the band performed alongside Jenna McDougall, the lead singer of the Australian band Tonight Alive and then on Sunday, Jarett Reddick from Bowling For Soup joined SP on stage to celebrate the last day of Warped for this band (BFS).
Simple Plan managed to capture these special moments on camera on their Instagram Stories and if you missed them, you can now check out a compilation of them all below:
Simple Plan continue to enjoy their life on Warped Tour this summer and over the course of the past few days, the road has lead them to more U.S. cities, where they got to perform their energetic set.
But before we head over to the new additions to the gallery from each of the past few shows, let’s have a look at some video updates we have here. Firstly, Simple Plan just released another recap video on Instagram, which captures footage from their most recent shows at Warped Tour. You can check it out here:
And while Simple Plan’s setlist on Warped Tour still remains the same, the attendees of the most recent Warped Tour in Maryland Heights, MO on Monday had the opportunity to see Simple Plan pull another special surprise, when they invited not only Travis Clark from We The Kings (as they’ve done a few times before) but also Nate Motte from 3OH!3! Both musicians then helped SP finish their song ‘I’m Just A Kid’, while Chuck stagedived into the crowd and Pierre took over the drums. Check out a video of this moment here.
Filmmaker Peter John, who’s recently started posting short vlogs of behind the scenes on Warped Tour with Simple Plan [don’t forget to watch the previous ones!], didn’t forget to upload the latest one today, so here’s the most recent update from the road, in which you’ll see the boys and crew passionately watching the World Cup and more happenings at Warped:
And now finally to the pictures! Once again thanks to Maureen (BurningStars.net) we’ve received another batch of her photos – this time from the SP show in Las Vegas. More pictures have also been added to the new albums from the most recent shows in Salt Lake City, Denver and Maryland Heights. Enjoy:
On this year’s Warped Tour, Simple Plan not only have their trusted photographer Chady Awad with them to take pictures, but who else joined them on this 2-months-long summer ride is their old friend Peter John from Australia, who you may recall at the director who was in charge of Simple Plan’s ‘Live in Melbourne’ footage [check it out here] and some other stunningly-shot live videos. Besides that, Peter has also been working with Chuck on the yet-to-be-released pop-punk documentary Resurgence.
The life on Warped Tour is surely a difficult one but at the same time lots and lots of fun – especially for the crew. That is why John has decided to capture the live on the road on Warped Tour with Simple Plan through YouTube videos, that he’s been regularly posting every day for over a week now. Now if these daily vlogs continue, we will be entertained and kept up-to-date all summer long, so make sure to subscribe to Peter’s YouTube channel (Backpack Filmmaker) or keep checking out SimplePlan.cz – as always, we’ll be updating you on all the upcoming videos.
Below, we prepared for you a playlist of the so-far-released nine daily vlogs by Peter John, which document everything from behind the scenes of Warped to the crew’s day off in Vegas. Enjoy:
