PHOTO: David and Jeff’s night out

It’s always a surprise to see David interacting via social networks and this time it was an even bigger surprise that he actually also shared a picture of himself, his sister and Jeff hanging out yesterday evening for some late-night drinks. Check out the picture in the gallery:

INTERVIEW: Jeff, David and Seb versus beauty

In another interview – this time for GLOSStoi, which three of the members of Simple Plan gave during the launch of Kiehl’s new cosmetic product – whose proceeds will support the Simple Plan Foundation – David, Seb and Jeff talked about what cosmetic products they use and what they find attractive about women:

What is your essential beauty product?

Sebastien: “Before the launch of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, I did not wear any cosmetic product or rather I didn’t pay any attention to them. Now I cannot live without this cream and I apply it every day!”

David: “Without a doubt, my perfume. I will not say the name of the perfume, because I like to feel different from others so that people can remember me this way.”

Jeff: “As you know, I like having a clean-cut look, so for me, it’s definitely all the Gillette shaving products.”

Aside beauty, what attracts you to a girl?

Sebastien: “I love everything about girls, I always find something that appeals to me on every girl. I don’t see a difference between a girl with or without makeup, both is pretty.”

David: “I like it when a girl has charisma or when she looks me in the eye while we talk. I don’t have any preferences when it comes to make-up or no make-up.”

Jeff: “I love it when a girl who has a sense of humor is also naturally beautiful so that when I get up in the morning I’m not surprised when I look at her!”

MuchMusic shares an old-school photo of Simple Plan from 2002

As a part of the celebrations of MuchMusic‘s 30th birthday, Canada’s beloved music channel reached into its archives and released a few old photos and videos of various artists that appeared on its screens in the past decades. Below you can check out a picture from one of Simple Plan’s first appearances at MuchMusic – back from 2002:

New interview with Jeff, David and Seb

Besides answering the fans’question through a Twitter chat last Tuesday at the launch of Kiehl’s new facial product [photos here], David, Jeff and Sebastien gave a couple interviews to the media about their recent collaboration with the cosmetic brand and its ties to the Simple Plan Foundation. The first one posted online comes from the LouLou magazine and you can check it out below:

Can you tell us a little bit about the Simple Plan Foundation and what it means to you guys?

Jeff: Well, the foundation started out with us hearing from fans (through letters or talking to them backstage) about the problems they were faced with. We felt helpless that we couldn’t really do anything about these problems. We were doing other foundation work at the time, but the money in some instances did not go directly to the causes we were supporting. Basically we decided to do it on our own and we put every penny raised into the organization that we’re helping. We try to aim for organizations that aren’t necessarily as visible in the media, or as glamorous. It’s not very sexy to deal with causes that deal with dependency, sexual identity, homelessness…

Seb: There’s 3 ways that Kiehl’s is giving back. First, they’re donating 100% of the Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream profits to the Foundation. They will also donate $1 for every transaction on September 12-14, 2014. And finally we’re hosting a free acoustic performance in Toronto on September 19th that will be live-streamed. For each view, Kiehl’s is donating $1.

Can you share any fashion or beauty tips of your own?

Jeff: I like the fact that nowadays, it’s all about a little scruff… it prevents me from having to shave everyday! You also need good shoes in life… that’s very important.

Seb: I think you have to do something that works for you. There are a lot of trends going on, and there are people who follow those trends, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. It’s about being confident with your own style.

Can you share with us some of your fave hot spots in Montreal?

Jeff: In the last few years I’ve seen a boom in the restaurant scene and the bar scene… it’s amazing! Mangiafoco is one of my restaurants in Old Montreal, it’s a designer pizzeria. Also Laurea on Laurier, it’s super nice and has a beautiful setting.

David: If you want to have a cool and a little bit more hip setting, go to the bar next to Laurea… you’ll most likely see me there!

Jeff: I’m going to give you the scoop… the best place to eat for lunch in Montreal is called Juicy Dumplings. It’s amazing, one of the best kept secrets in Montreal!

PHOTO: Chuck and Pierre celebrate David’s birthday with a selfie

As you’re already aware of, Pierre and Chuck are currently back home in California, where they are devoting their time to song-writing for the next Simple Plan album. That’s why they couldn’t be in Montreal yesterday with David, who celebrated his 34th birthday. Instead, the boys decided to congratulate him via the Internet and published a selfie on Chuck’s Instagram with the following message:

Taking a quick selfie break to wish our amazing bandmate and friend David Desrosiers a very Happy Birthday! Party hard buddy! Now back to work!
