Simple Plan to sing in French on the new album

We all know verz well that even though English is not the mothertoungue of the members of Simple Plan, it fits much more to the pop-rock style of the band. That’s why Simple Plan sing all of their songs in English. Well… until now. According to MusiquePlus, Patrick Langlois, a long-time friend of Simple Plan and today a videoreporter for MusiquePlus came with a very interesting scoop right from the main source: the new Simple Plan album, which is due this spring, will feature a song in French!

But if you can’t speak French, don’t worry! You will not miss the English version either! The guys wrote the original song, just like the other songs, in English, but in order to spice up the album a little bit, they’ve decided to record it in their first language as well. That’s why we will hear this yet unknown song on the album twice: in English AND in French. Chuck officially confirmed this scoop on his Twitter.

So, what do you say? How is it gonna be for you to sing along in French? Or shall I ask.. how is it gonna be listening to French?

I guess it’s time to dust off the old French dictionaries and start learning fast, cause the release date of the new SP album is (pardon me) Just Around The Corner!

LEAK: New song – Just Around The Corner

Source: CSP & SPB

Unbelievable!
After the song Famous For Nothing, about which we already know it didn’t make it to the last cut and so it won’t appear on the new SP album, another song from Simple Plan just leaked on the Internet, this time, the song called Just Around The Corner. According to SPB the official band’s statement is that the song is NOT a new single, as, just like FFN, it did not make it to the album, and it was recorded only as a demo.

As we were asked by the band not to share the links to this song, we will not be publishing it. Thanks for understanding.

It is rather unusual that this is a second time that a demo, which wasn’t even recorded in the studio, leaked – this usually happens with already recorded and mastered records, which start leaking onto the internet weeks/months before the official release.

The members of the band also commented on the leak of the song “Just Around The Corner”: Chuck confirmed that “New song that leaked is a demo we wrote for the album. No idea why / how it leaked…i can confirm to you it’s not on the album.” Just like the fans, also Seb was confused how the song could get out: “Funny how these demos that are not on the record get around.” And finally Jeff, who is known for teasing the fans with information about the new album: “”Just Around the Corner” is one of the SP songs that didn’t make it onto the record. I love that song, it’s sick, but wait till you hear…”

Mixer of Simple Plan’s new album: Chris Lord-Alge

Let me introduce you to the mixer of the upcoming Simple Plan’s release, Mr. Chris Lord-Alge. Chris is mostly known for extreme use of the so-called dynamic range of compression (you can read more about this process that reduces the dynamic range of an audio signal zde). You may have not heard about Chris, but you are definitely familiar with his previous work as a mixer on albums like American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown by Green Day, Brand New Eyes by Paramore, Black Parade and Danger Days: The True Lives of Fabulous Killjoys by My Chemical Romance or the self-titled Simple Plan record.

The guys from Simple Plan have already listened to the first version of the new album’s mix and according to their reactions, it seems like Chris’ work has paid off. As Jeff says “It sounds unreal!” And he moslty praises the mix of the song You Suck At Love.

It seems like we really do have loads to look forward to!

Emanuel Kiriakou collaborates on Simple Plan’s new album!

It seems like the upcoming Simple Plan’s record is gonna be filled with many different producers and song-writers. As of right now, with names like Claude Kelly, David Hodges, Jim Irvin, Michael Warren, Julian Emery or Rivers Cuomo, we can also count on Mr. Emanuel Kiriakou, who stated in his recent tweet that along with Chuck, they are currently listening to their new songs (and added the photo you can check out on the right side).

Emanuel Kiriakou is an American producer, song-writer and singer, who has already worked in the past with such artists as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Bowling For Soup or Backstreet Boys.

The role he plays on the 4th Simple Plan’s album – if he co-produced, co-wrote or co-sang the songs – still remains a secret, though.

Simple Plan among the most anticipated albums of 2011!

Source: Alternative Press

The official website of the Alternative Press magayine released an article on the most anticipated releases of 2011 and surprise, surprise, next to Patrick Stump, Yellowcard and Gym Class Heroes zou can find also Simple Plan, along with a photo from a photoshoot we’ve only seen a scan of so far. From the article below you will also learn that the secret song Rivers Cuomo from Weezer collaborated on is actually one of the songs, which title has already been officially released – “Can’t Keep My Hands Off You”.

“This is probably the hardest we’ve ever worked on an album,” admits Simple Plan drummer Chuck Comeau from Vancouver, Canada, where the band have been holed up on and off since June with producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Boys Like Girls). That’s not to say the Canadian quintet’s previous three releases were uninspired, but the band penned nearly 70 songs for their fourth album, and Comeau says the high output ultimately yielded better results. Among the contenders for the still-untitled disc are “Astronaut,” “You Suck At Love” (which the band road-tested on this past summer’s Bamboozle Roadshow) and “Can’t Keep My Hands Off You,” a collaboration with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo. “I think people are really going to love these songs,” the drummer gushes. “Fans of our first two records will be really happy.”
