To continue with the message of the last article – the guys confirmed on Twitter that they have indeed NOT thought about the album title yet, so the title “Astronaut” that was “revealed” in an italian interview must have been just a little fail made by the local reporter.
Simple Plan have completely finished song number 3 for the upcoming album and they are already working on the 4th one. And during yesterday, Pierre updated us via Twitter yesterday with loads of photos from the studio – and thanks to them we finally got to know the names of other people, who work with Simple Plan in the studio:

In the interview Chuck and Sebastien gave in Italy, on 4th September 2010, the guys were asked many questions concerning their upcoming record (which they describes as pop-punk Nirvana). One of the questions, which you can read in the subtitles at time 1:00 revealed that the name album should be called “Astronaut”.
If the title was real, it would be the first Simple Plan album named by one of the songs in it.
This album’s name has not been confirmed by the band – usually the Simple Plan guys come up with the title when the record’s all finished and ready to be released.
What are your thoughts on this unofficial title? Do you like it? If not, what name would you suggest?
Our Simple Plan boys are still in the studio in Vancouver, Canada, recording album #4 (yet untitled – but as we know SP, they will come up with the title minutes before the deadline). So let’s take some time to recap what’s been going on in the past few days:
The guys have already completed two songs from the upcoming album – that means (about) 10 songs to go – even though some of them are partially recorded already. As I have mentioned in the last post, one of the 60 songs that the guys wrote for the new album, leaked online yesterday as a demo version – the song is called “Famous For Nothing” (the song-title has been a general knowledge for a couple of months now, though). Famous For Nothing is about the so-called “celebrities”, who can’t really do anything are literally are just famous for nothing at all (Chuck confessed to be inspired by the stars of shows like “Jersey Shore” or “The Hills”).
Ever since being leaked, “Famous For Nothing” elicited very diverse reactions among the fans: of course there were those who didn’t like the song very much, but there were also fans who loved it. Important message to all of the fans from the SP guys is though that the song will NOT make it to the album – according to Pierre we should be looking forward to much better songs!
Aaaand speaking of very important news… here are some not so important, but definitely interesting (for some) ones: the guys celebrated Chuck’s birthday the day before (casue during his birthday they were locked in the studio working their butts off) in the Goldfish restaurant in Vancouver, Jeff started practising yoga and Sebastien loves the new Weezer record – Hurley – and also wrote another song along with his friend/musician Katie Rox.
And in my opinion it would not be a proper “recap of the last few days” if it didn’t include a gallery update. So, make sure to head over to the SimplePlan.cz gallery to check out the new photos from the studio, and then also thanks to CSP.com pictures from one party from this year, where you can spot Pierre with his friends, then also photos from the band’s afterparty from back in 2008 and last but not the least the pool party pictures from (what i believe it’s) the year 2008, which so far have been seen only very hugely tagged:
Perez Hilton, the famous gossip blogger leaked a demo version of a new Simple Plan song on his website. The song is called “Famous For Nothing”!
Check it out here:
The bad news is, though, that according to Jeff, who responded to this leak in one of his recent tweets, this song will not make the new record. No explanaition was said, but at least you can check out what the new Simple Plan’s album should sound like. It’s pretty dope, isn’t it?
And thanks to Nath, here are already the lyrics for “Famous For Nothing” (they are also available under “B-sides” in the Lyrics center too):
Famous For Nothing
Cuz I’m Famous for nothing
I love my fame
so let’s talk more about me
I got no shame,
my sex tape is coming out next week
I’m so crazy
Cuz it’s good for the ratings
so take another picture for US Weekly
calling my friends
You call ‘em paparazzi
Turn up the lights, cameras a go
Get out the way
cuz I’m famous for nothing
Out every night,
My life’s a show
I’m getting paid
cuz I’m famous for nothing
I can’t act, can’t dance, can’t write, can’t sing
No, I can’t do anything
Turn up the lights, I love the dough
cuz I’m famous for nothing.
Oh oh oh oh
Cuz I’m famous for nothing
Good press, bad press
it makes no difference to me
if I go to the grocery store
I make sure to call TMZ
When I go out
I get paid to party.
I’m always on the list
champagne, red carpet
You fly coach
I only fly private
Turn up the lights, cameras are go
Get out the way
cuz I’m famous for nothing
Out every night,
My life’s a show
I’m getting paid
cuz I’m famous for nothing
I can’t act, can’t dance, can’t write, can’t sing
No, I can’t do anything
Turn up the lights, pile up the dough
cuz I’m famous for nothing.
I’m dating someone famous
it makes me even more famous it’s true
I can hear you people laughing
can’t you see the joke is really on you.
Now you follow all my ups and downs,
I’m filling up my bank account
I’m so big, I’m so important
You wanna be my friend,
just call my agent.
Say you only got fifteen minutes
and mine are almost up
I guess I’ll take the bus back home
when my spin off flops.
Turn up the lights, cameras are go
Get out the way
cuz I’m famous for nothing
Out every night,
My life’s a show
I’m getting paid
cuz I’m famous for nothing
I can’t act, can’t dance, can’t write, can’t sing
No, I can’t do anything
Turn up the lights, pile up the dough
cuz I’m famous for nothing.
I got the life, too bad they know,
Get out the way
cuz I’m famous for nothing
Out every night,
My life’s a show
I’m getting paid
cuz I’m famous for nothing
I can’t act, can’t dance, can’t write, can’t sing
No, I can’t do anything
Turn up the lights, pile up the dough
cuz I’m famous for nothing.
After the return from two festivals in Europe, the guys from Simple Plan headed back to Canada – particularly to Vancouver, where they continue to record their 4th studio album. According to Jeff, the band should stay in the studio at least for another month and half (and the album is still scheduled to be released sometimes in spring 2011).
In the gallery you can now check out photos from the studio, which were taken by Jeff yesterday:
