Last week, Simple Plan finished the recording of drums in the studio and on this week’s agenda are the guitars. Check out the photos from today’s session in the studio, that were posted at the guys’ official Twitter profiles:

It’s been already few months since we’ve let you know that Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer of Weezer, is collaborating with Simple Plan on one song, which could end up on the new Simple Plan record. So far the song has been described by Simple Plan members as “funny, happy and rock”.
Our beloved Patrick Langlois, who is working for MusiquePlus now, recently interviewed Rivers Cuomo and asked him about his collaboration with Simple Plan. Cuomo said:
“They work super-hard on their record right now. It feels like a very important record for them, they wanna grow and I think it’s really smart they’re hooking up with different musicians, like myself, and experimenting, collaborating and seeing what kind of new influences they can bring in. I heard some other [songs on their] record and it’s really incredible, so yeah, we were working on a song together, we never know, where we land in, could be on their record, or mine, or somebody else’s, who knows, but it’s a GOOD song.”
If you’d like to watch the whole Patrick’s interview with Rivers Cuomo, check it out Patrick’s on programme “Objectif Coulisses” right here (the Simple Plan talk starts @ 3:30):

The day, we’ve all been waiting for for so many months now, is finally just around the corner! Tomorrow Simple Plan will be officially hitting the Van Howes studios in Vancouver, where the guys will start recording their new album – they have been working on the lyrics and melodies for the last 8 months.
Simple Plan entering the studio means many new vlogs, photos and hopefully also sneak peaks of the new songs, so we definitely have loads to look forward to!
Meanwhile, check out the first photo from yesterday’s Simple Plan show in New Richmond, Canada and also one new picture Pierre posted on his Twitter:

It’s been already few months since we’ve informed you about the title of a new song “Astronaut”, that might be among the songs on the upcoming Simple Plan record. The guys worked on this song with Julian Emery (british producer and song-writer, known for his collaboration with McFly) and Jim Irvin, who worked for example with Davidem Guetta.
Pierre anounced in his recent tweet:
“Working on a song called “Astronaut” that fans will L-O-V-E!!!!!”
Chuck also said that Astronaut is probably one of his favourite songs they have ever wrote. It seems like we have something to look forward to!
To summarize, as of now we have 3 songs for the new album officially confirmed by the band: Astronaut, You Suck At Love (which we already got to hear) and This Song Saved My Life (which is about SP fans).
By the way, check out these new photos in our gallery, which the guys posted on Twitter. The first two pictures are photos of polaroids that Jeff recently found at home, where you can see two outtakes from a photoshoot from 2003 and on the third picture you can spot Pierre and his cup of coffee:

Yesterday, Pierre and Chuck spent the whole day in Vancouver in the Van Howes studios with the producer of Simple Plan’s upcoming record – Brian Howes. Brian Howes is a Canadian music producer, who is known for producing all Hedley’s albums, the newest Boys Like Girls’ album “Love Drunk” or also Faber Drive’s records. Pierre posted a picture from the first day of pre-production, where you can see Brian Howes with Chuck in the studio:
