New group vlog and a sneak peak of a new song!

Probably the best news we got in a really long time is here! Chuck surprised all the fans today with a new group vlog – including the whole band, which the guys made yesterday, during the rehearsals for the Bamboozle Roadshow, which kicks off for Simple Plan this Friday.

The guys also promised that during their shows at this US tour (where they will share stage with bands like All Time Low, Good Charlotte etc.) they would play one song from the upcoming album. The name of this song should be revealed by Chuck today on his Twitter. And if you’re already interested in how this song sounds (and I bet you are!) you can check out the beginning of it right in this vlog. So you better check it out!!

Chuck’s Twitcam reveals new info on next SP album

If you have been following SP.cz on Facebook and Twitter (it really pays off to follow SP.cz on these social networks!), then you already know that Chuck hosted another Twitcam for fans yesterday at 6pm EST. Unfortunately the Twitcam is not available for streaming (normally it would be… but let’s just say Chuck is not really a technical type). Anyways, even though I don’t have a video to stream for you guys, here are some notes from the chat, mostly the most important answers to the questions the fans asked:

– the song that the guys have been working on with Weezer’s lead singer – Rivers Cuomo – Chuck described as “funny, happy and rock”

– the process of writing of the song “This Song Saved My Life” (yes, this is the real name of the song), which is about Simple Plan’s fans, was taped, which means one day we will get to see how it looked, when the guys worked on this song

one of the songs that Pierre and Chuck wrote is about not wanting to be at work or school

another song is about the feeling when nobody understands you (resemblence to Welcome To My Life?)

– mostly the album should really be based on fast and fun songs and it should remind us of the SNGA and NPNHJB era

– a lot of people asked about the new DVD – the sequel to the first Simple Plan’s DVD: A Big Package For You (ABPFY). The guys have been considering a second DVD for a while now and they will definitely try to make another one (even though they raised the bar pretty high with the first DVD..)

– currently Pierre and Chuck are still in Los Angeles, but at least Chuck plans on returning back to Montreal tonight, where the whole band will be during the next couple of weeks listening to the demo versions and planning the studio

– Chuck thinks the band should be in the studio from June to August and the new album is still scheduled to be released this year

Warner Canada listened to the new Simple Plan songs

Warner Canada – Simple Plan’s recording label announced on their Twitter (@WarnerCanada) yesterday that they already have the first demo versions of new Simple Plan songs (those that Pierre and Chuck worked on for months in Los Angeles) and that they were just about to listen to them!

Michael Warren, about who’s collaboration with Simple Plan we’ve already informed you in a couple of last posts, posted a new photo on his Twitter few days ago. The picture shows Piere and Chuck working on one of their last days writing lyrics for the new album. You can check out the photo and its description written by Michael below:

Writing with Simple Plan today. Came up with a cool song so its a good day.

Anyways, it seems like Michael Warren has worked with the SP boys at least on two songs – one in April and one now in May.

The list of names of people, who are collaborating with Simple Plan on their upcoming record, is getting larger and larger every day! David Hodges, who you may know as a ex-keyboardist and song-writer of the band Evanescence, confirmed on his Twitter that he’s working with Simple Plan.

Just finished up a song I wrote w/ @simpleplan. Hope you guys get to hear it soon.

David has already worked with many artists including Kelly Clarkson (on her single “Because Of You”), with the band Dashboard Confessional, Adam Lambert or Celine Dion.
