Sebastien received SOCAN award for co-writting a song for Andee

On Monday evening, Sebastien exchanged his jeans and t-shirt for a suit and tie as he attended this year’s SOCAN awards. SOCAN stands for The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, which is a not-for-profit organization represents the Canadian performing rights of Canadian and international music creators and publishers. Every year SOCAN awards its best authors, composers and music publishers at the SOCAN gala, which took place in Montreal on October 5th this year.

Sebastien Lefebvre was there to accept the Anglophone Song Award for the song “Never Gone” that he co-wrote with Andrée-Anne Leclerc, professionally known as Andee, who is also the song’s performer. Check out the plaque Sebastien received at the SOCAN gala on the left and also make sure to visit the gallery for some pictures of Seb at the event:

Pierre wears a red nose in support of cancer charity

Ever since his brother Jay has been through cancer, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan has been very interested in helping out various cancer charity programs and campaigns. His latest involvement is with the Nez Pour Vivre foundation, which helps young adults between the ages of 18-35 living with cancer. The Nez Pour Vivre foundation is currently running a campaign with a goal of reaching 1 million dollars between October 1st 2015 and October 1st 2016 with proceeds going to cancer research.

To do this, the Foundation has sought out the help of over 200 personalities: artists, public figures, athletes, business leaders to support the campaign by taking a selfie while wearing a red nose, publishing it on their social media profiles and inviting their fans to do the same. The red nose can be purchased for $2 at many of the Foundation’s partners’ stores, such as Tim Hortons, Jean Coutu, Archambault, Party Expert, Rossy, KFC, VitroPlus and Giant Tiger.

After registering on the Foundation’s website, the selfie-takers can also win some interesting prizes – one of which is a performance of Pierre Bouvier at one chosen high school [in Canada]. More info can be found here.

Check out Pierre’s red nose picture, which he posted on Instagram last night:

Simple Plan confirm logistics behind collaborations to last till January

Back in Paris, France at the beginning of September, Pierre and Jeff sat down with Rockurlife.net for an interview. The guys firstly talked about their recent tourbus accident, which despite Jeff’s initial tweet was not cause by a drunk driver, but a driver who fell asleep behind the wheel. Apparently there was more damage on his car than on the tourbus (and everybody’s okay).

Besides their well-being after the accident, the guys mostly discussed their upcoming record and the reasons behind the postponing of its release to early 2016. According to the interviewed members of Simple Plan, there’s a couple of reasons behind it – and besides them wanting to make the best record for their fans and choose the right songs – one of the other reasons is the fact that they still plan on adding some collaborations, which take a little longer to set up. The guys estimate that the logistics behind these new collaborations will probably last at least until January 2016.

And finally in the gallery you can have a look at some of the amazing pictures of Jeff and Pierre that were taken during this interview:

New official photos from European tour

Simple Plan are currently back home to rest a bit and finally finish up their upcoming new album. And while they’re doing so, they decided to hype us up for the next tour with some awesome pictures taken by Chady on the August/September European tour.
