This Sunday, Simple Plan will be appearing on the game show On Connaît La Chanson and here is another picture from the taping where you can see all the members of Simple Plan with Marie-Mai, Eric Salvail and the hosts of the show. Check it out in the gallery:
Earlier this year, William Brock, a cancer survivor, has released a new book called “Portraits of Hope”/, which documents the story of his own and also of other cancer survivors and those, who accompanied them on their journey to being cancer-free. The proceeds of the book are going to the William Brock Fund for Research and Education into Blood Cancers and also to the Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital and the readers of the book will be able to get an insight on the emotional stories of people like Saku Koivu, John Gomery, Paul Henderson and also Jay Bouvier.
Jay Bouvier, brother of Simple Plan’s lead singer Pierre, has been diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma cancer in 2006 but thanks to medical treatment and transplant of bone marrow with their other brother Jonathan being the donor, Jay was officially declared cancer free in 2007 and has been healthy ever since. If you want to know more about Pierre’s story, I encourage you to read his very in-depth blog about his brother’s disease he posted on MySpace in 2008.
The feeling of being so trapped and having no way how to help his brother, has inspired Pierre to write a song about it – Save You, released on the self-tiled Simple Plan record in 2008. Both Jay and Pierre’s Dad have been a part of the music video for the song as well.
The book “Portraits of Hope” doesn’t include only Jay but also his two brothers – Pierre and Jonathan, and even mentions the lyrics to the song “Save You”. You can check out some of the pictures of the three Bouvier brothers that are featured in the book in the gallery:
Currently, the book is being given for free to the cancer patients and the employees of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital in Montreal, Canada, signed by some of the featured cancer survivors, including Jay Bouvier.

This Sunday, December 9th, TVA will be broadcasting a special Christmas episode of a game show called On connaît la chanson that Simple Plan along with Marie-Mai will be a part of. You can now view the first revealed mini-sized picture from the taping and also three new teasers for the show, which revealed that Simple Plan will play at least 3 songs: Welcome To My Life, Jet Lag (feat. Marie-Mai) and Summer Paradise.
