Chuck’s arrival to Singapore

After a very long flight with pitstops in Toronto and Hong Kong, today Chuck Comeau along with the manager for Simple Plan, Mr. Eric Lawrence, both arrived safely in Singapore, where they will be giving speeches tomorrow at a conference about the contemporary music industry called Music Matters.

At the Singapore airport, Chuck got a very warm welcome from tons of local Simple Plan fans, with whom he stayed for a while to take pictures and sign. After that he even mentioned it in one of his latest tweets: “Soooo many amazing SP Astronauts welcoming me at the airport in Singapore! Thank you so much. You make me feel at home every time I’m here.”

News from Israel: Simple Plan’s single coming out in the US

As of this moment, some of the member of Simple Plan are already back home in Canada, some of them back in the States and they are all enjoying some well-deserved time-off. On Saturday the band played their last show (for about a month) – in Tel-Aviv, Israel, where they’ve gathered quite a few souvenirs (as you can see on the picture on the left).

A highlight of this concert was a moment right before Perfect, when Pierre asked the crowd to be silent for a while before he comes back and says something important. It took him two takes, but finally manage to announce that “Simple Plan’s single is coming out in the United States”.

You can check out the announcement on the video below:

Since Simple Plan are currently promoting their single Summer Paradise, I’m assuming this is the single they are talking about (and that it really arrives to the US only now). This could be a fairly good news for the US fans because if the band gets lots of radio play in the country, the chances of them coming back there are even better. And so far, with Get Your Heart On!, Simple Plan haven’t really spent much time in the US.

And to wrap this post up, let’s get back to the night in Israelin the gallery you can check out some new picturesy from Simple Plan’s third performance in this country:

Simple Plan support a campaign against breast cancer

Pierre and Jeff were spotted at the Groezrock festival in Belgium, at the booth of the “I Love Boobies” campaign that is organized by Keep A Breast, an organisation that is trying to promote a new approach and positive style of communication about breast cancer. You can check out a photo from Simple Plan’s appearance at their booth in the gallery:

Last show of the European tour: Glasgow

Yesterday, Simple Plan rocked Glasgow, in Scotland and wrapped up the second leg of their European tour, which has so far been one of the biggest they have ever done on this continent. They even had to split it into two halves: during the first one they visited Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Italy and the second one included Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Belgium and finally the United Kingdom.

To end the tour on a high note, the local fans in Glasgow prepared something special for the band, when during This Song Saved My Life they held up letters and signs, all filled with Simple Plan related confessions. The letters then have been crumpled and thrown on stage for the band to see.

Also, Travis Clark (the lead singer of the opening band We The Kings) decided to watch Simple Plan one last time and said some very nice words about the band in one of his tweets: “Watching Simple Plan…they are seriously so good live!! Love this tour to death.” Of course this is not the last stop for We The Kings and Simple Plan together! They will say their goodbyes only for a moment till they see each other again in a month, when they are touring Australia together.

And we here in Europe won’t have to miss the boys for very long – we already know that they are coming back very soon. In June they already have a couple of festivals lined up and apart from that it is said that they are also planning a return to Europe in fall of 2012.

Now don’t forget to check out the first pictures from the last show of Simple Plan’s European tour – from Glasgow:
