The backstage is always a place where celebrities have a chance to meet and catch up with each other. Not that our boys are “celebrities” per se, but they still have lots of opportunities to meet other familiar faces on award shows just like it was during the Juno Awards 2012. Simple Plan surprises with a Juno Awards performance with hula girls

Every year, you can always bet to find huge names both on the red carpet and also among the performers at the Canadian Juno Awards. At this year’s show, hosted by Star Trek’s William Shatner, the stage welcomed local Canadian acts like Nickelback, Hedley and Simple Plan.

It was Simple Plan who performed last to wrap the whole evening up and had quite a few surprises for the viewers of the show. Not only they have been joined by the rapper K’Naan, who sings on the original version of the song, but to make the place look a bit more like a “Summer Paradise”, they also had a group of hula girls doing their thing on a side stage. As you can see from one of the backstage pictures, Pierre couldn’t resist and had to try on their costume after their performance as well.

Simple Plan attend their first day of Juno Week and receive a humanitarian award

Yesterday was probably one of the most hectic days for the members of Simple Plan in a long time. Just a few hours after getting back from the first part of their European tour back home to Canada, they spent the whole Saturday on various events related to the so-called “Juno Week”, which will end with the presenting of the Juno Awards later tonight.

First, Simple Plan attended the Juno Fan Fare, where they were scheduled to meet hundreds of fans on a signing session. Next, a few of the band members were seen to attend the Celebrity Lounge and you can now check out the pictures from both of these events in the gallery:

But that was not all that yesterday had in store for Simple Plan. The evening of March 31st has definitely become one of the most important in the band’s career. First, they were invited by no-one other than Canada’s prime minister Stephen Harper to have a drink in his residence and then during the AJuno Gal Dinner, the band was recognised for their charitable work with their Simple Plan Foundation and received the honorary Allan Waters’ Humanitarian Award. During the speech that the band accompanied the acceptance of this award, Pierre said (regarding the fact that Simple Plan have now become the youngest recipients of it): “Helping out others isn’t something that has to happen when you are 50 or 60 years old.”

Some of the members of Simple Plan were supported by the presence of their parents at the Juno Gala Dinner and later (openly via Twitter) thanked them for their constant support, mostly regarding the Foundation,
