The wrap of the first leg of the European tour

Yesterday in Rome, Italy, Simple Plan finished their first (March) leg of their European touré with another show for thousands of excited fans. Currently, the boys are on their way back home to Canada, where they will be attending the Fan Fare tomorrow in Ottawa (as a part of the Juno week) and also will receive the humanitarian award for their charitable work with Simple Plan Foundation. After that they have a few weeks off before getting back on the road again and returning to the old continet for the second leg of their European tour in April.

The second to last show of the first leg of the European tour – in Milan, Italy – was insane. After a fan managed to get up on stage during the Simple Plan show, the security caught him and started beating him up.

At that moment Simple Plan stopped playing, Jeff ran after the security and got the fan back inside.. Pierre also mentioned this incident in one of his tweets: “Cheers to Jeff for saving a kid from being beat up by security.” On the video below at mark 2:08 you can see the band’s reaction to seeing the security beating up the fan really bad:

Apart from that, during the final Perfect, another fan jumped on the stage to give Pierre a kiss. You can check it out on the video below at mark 0:49 (thx to Edy for letting me know):

Pierre at a secret recording session in Milan, Italy

Yesterday, before Simple Plan hit the stage in Milan, Italy, Pierre attended a very secret recording session in this city, along with Simple Plan’s sound engineer Frank Joly.

Could we expect some sort of new collaboration? New song? New something else? I guess only time will tell. Below you can check out a picture from this recording session that Frank posted on his Twitter page:

Photo of the “Thank You” signs from Prague in HQ

Ever since last September, when SimplePlan.cz has organized the Czech fans to hold up the “Thank You” signs in paper hearts during the Simple Plan show in Prague, Czech Republic, I’ve been trying to get the picture that the guys took on stage. They have posted one a few days after the show – only it was in a pretty low quality, so my goal has become to somehow get the original version.

And finally after this year’s European tour I managed to receive it, so huge thanks goes to Amanda, Sean and Sim, each of them helping me to get it. You can see that the picture is a bit different than the one before, but most importantly it’s in much higher quality. Enjoy:

Yesterday Simple Plan played for an incredible and very international crowd in Vienna, Austria.
