David plays drums during Marianas Trench’s set in Shawinigan, Canada

As you probably all know by now, David Desrosiers is a huge fan of drums. It might even be his favourite instrument to play! That’s why we’ve already seen him behind the drums for example on many The New Cities’ concerts in Canada (during “Looks Minus Substance”).

This time around, on the last show of Simple Plan’s Canadian tour – in Shawinigan – the boys from Marianas Trench invited David to play drums during their set – particularly during the song “All To Myself”. From what Janie has told us, David learned the song in only 2 hours before performing it live.

That’s pretty remarkable!

Also, thanks to Janie you can now check out pictures from this special occasion in the gallery and also a video below:

The end of the Canadian Get Your Heart On! tour

Simple Plan used yesterday’s unique leap day to wrap up their so far most well worked-out tour when it comes to production they have ever done – most probably because they were back home in Canada for the first time in months.

It was the first tour on which Simple Plan used a projection in a big way on every single concert – first to demonstrate a special intro video which showed their fans what Plan! does before hitting the stage, and then also as a background during songs they played live – for example during Astronaut or This Song Saved My Life (the latter projection showing photos directly taken by Simple Plan fans). The guys also introduced a brand new party medley of covers (featuring Moves Like Jagger, Dynamite and Sexy And I Know It) and some of them revelaed more of themselves than some fans probably even hoped for. Then during Summer Paradise, the band surprised its fans with a pile of beach balloons which were dropped on the crowd from above, and then with red and white confetti shooting from every direction during the final Perfect.

When it comes to the opening bands, Simple Plan couldn’t have made a better choice. The Canadians These Kids Wear Crowns kicked the shows off with their catchy and upbeat tracks, then All Time Low put on very dirrrty show filled with their hits, jokes and innuendos and finally before the headliner hit the stage, another Canadian band – Marianas Trench – showed the crowd a little bit more of theatricality. TKWC said their goodbyes to the GYHO tour a few days before it’s end and the tour continued with the golden trio, consisting od: SP, ATL and MT. These three bands decided to celebrate their final show in Shawinigan, Canada, yesterday with a final afterparty, from which some of the guys from the opening acts published a few pictures. Also, Pierre appeared on a few photos that were posted by All Time Low’s crew on Twitter, after they went to play some hockey in Chicoutimi:

Below, you can finally check out the photos from the last two concerts of the Canadian tour – from Chicoutimi and Shawinigan:

All Time Low’s Zack Merrick plays bass on I’d Do Anything in Halifax, Canada

On their recent concert in Halifax, Canada, Zack Merrick, the bassist of All Time Low, joined Simple Plan on stage in the middle of I’d Do Anything, got his hands on David Desrosiers’ bass and played the rest of the song, while David had a chance to freely crowdsurf and sing his heart out.

Mind you, that was not the first time that a member of All Time Low “crashed” a Simple Plan show: the lead singer Alex Gaskarth can be found singing his parts on Freaking Me Out on the current Canadian tour and guitarist Jack Barakat likes to dress in red spandex and show his moves on stage during Simple Plan’s party medley.

On the left side of this post you can check out a picture of David and Zack hugging on stage – this and more pictures from Halifax can be found in the gallery.

And make sure to check out the whole performance of I’d Do Anything that features mr. Merrick in the video below:

Simple Plan’s Canadian tour with Marianas Trench and All Time Low is slowly coming to its end. The guys only have two more shows to play together in Canada, so no wonder they all try to spend together as much time as they can. Yes, there are many tweets (regarding showers and bunks) that may leave us wondering what exactly is going on on this tour, but there are also nice new pictures – or… make that one picture of the bands together. Here you can check out a new photo of Jack Barakat from All Time Low with the members of Simple Plan that All Time Low published on social networks yesterday:
