Simple Plan in China: photo update

Simple Plan have performed both shows that they were scheduled to play at in China and either today or early tomorrow they are heading to Taiwan, where they’re playing tomorrow. Both concerts in China were a huge success and you can already check out the photos from yesterday’s show in Beijing and also from today’s in Shanghai in the gallery:

Tha band spend three days in total in China. From the second day, when the guys were still in Beijing, I have one more picture for you from the interview the guy did with MTV China. And from the third day, meaning from today, here you can view one picture from Simple Plan’s arrival to Shanghai and also a few photos from the backstage of the show:

Welcome party for Simple Plan in China

After a long flight, all members of Simple Plan finally arrived to China yesterday, where they are kicking off their Asian tour with a concert in Beijing today. This tour is sort of a way to make it up to all the fans whose shows have been cancelled last summer because of Pierre’s medical condition. And even though their flight wasn’t as troubleless as they wished(the airlines managed to lose their baggage, and it looks like the only one whose suitcase didn’t get lost was Pierre, so Chuck naturally already managed to tell the world about whose underwear he is wearing today), the guys made is with a slight delay to their hotel at 9pm, where tons of Chinese fans greeted them with lots of cheer on their own welcome party, along with the singer Kelly Cha, who will be singing Jet Lag with Simple Plan later today.

During this party, Simple Plan were asked many questions, both from the fans and also from the reporters. And one of the most interesting information that the guys revelaed there is definitely the fact that the band wants to release their new DVD this year, as well as some sort of an EP, which the members described as “although not a complete album” but that the fans will love it just as much. Could this be a collection of unreleased tracks from the new album? What do you think?

Make sure to check out the gallery for the pictures from last night and below you can also watch a few videos from the party:

Chuck and Seb on their Christmas visit of children hospitals in Montreal

One day before Christmas Eve, that is on December 23rd 2011, Chuck and Sebastien went to three different hospitals in Montreal, Canada to spread a little Christmas joy to its patients: to play basketball with them, to play music instruments and mostly to talk and be with the children. The guys visited Maison Le Phare, St Justine Hospital and Montreal Children’s Hospital – all three institutions are fully supported by Simple Plan Foundation. Chuck commented on this visit by the following series of tweets:

“We had an amazing day visiting and hanging out with kids at St-Justine Hospital, Montreal Children’s Hospital and Maison Le Phare. The kids we met today are so inspiring. So strong and courageous. It’s an eye-opening experience every time. It teaches you to appreciate life. A huge thank you to all of them, their families, the nurses, doctors and volunteers who devote their lives to helping these sick children. With Christmas just around the corner, I hope we all take a second to realize how blessed and lucky we are to have good health and be alive.”

Let’s stop at Maison Le Phare for a while. This center contributes to the wellbeing of children whose lives are threatened by illnesses that require complex treatment. One of the types of therapy used in this institute is the so-called music therapy that Simple Plan and their foundation has been supporting for many years. Today, Maison Le Phare posted a couple of pictures from Chuck’s and Sebastien’s visit which you can now check out also in our gallery.

New Year’s show brought another Jet Lag collaboration: Chantal Kreviazuk

It has already become sort of a tradition for Simple Plan to whenever they have the chance (and Marie-Mai or Natashu Bedingfield are not around), they always try to find a female singer to perform Jet Lag with them on the show they are scheduled to play. And last night’s New Year’s show at Niagara Falls was no exception: Simple Plan were accompanied by a Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk.

If this name doesn’t ring any bell to you, you may have heard at least about her songwriting skills: in her career, Chantal has written (or co-written) for a huge number of musical artists: from Avril Lavigne (He Wasn’t) to Gwen Stefani (Rich Girl). She is also married to the lead singer of the band Our Lady Peace (Raine Maida), that also performed at this event.

Make sure to check out the gallery for the first pictures of Chantal on stage with the members of Simple Plan.

Simple Plan’s New Year’s show at Niagara Falls

Since the celebrations of the New Year’s Eve are already behind us, let’s take a look at what our five Canadian boys were up to on this magical night.

One day before the New Year’s Eve, Simple Plan got to the borders between Canada and the US, to Niagara Falls. This is where the band performed before, during and after midnight as the main stars of the night during the New Year’s Eve special that was also aired live on Global TV. You can already find a few pictures from the rehearsal from the day before and also the first picture from the show itself in the gallery:

Simple Plan jumped on the stage about half an hour before midnight and played a couple of their greatest hits. They also had the honour to do the countdown to midnight along with tens of thousands of spectators. The boys started the year off with their own special version of the traditional New Year’s song Auld Lang Syne, which you can check out below:

After that, the first original Simple Plan song that the band played live in 2012 has been the good old classic: “I’d Do Anything”.

More information and pictures will be added throughout the day.
