Simple Plan’s summer U.S. tour begins to sell out – band adds new dates in Orlando and Philadelphia!

Tickets for Simple Plan’s and New Found Glory’s co-headlining ‘Pop-Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour have been on sale for a little over a month now and so far 7 dates are already sold-out: St Petersburg (FL), New York (NY), Boston (MA), Chicago (IL), Minneapolis (MN), Salt Lake City (UT) and Anaheim (CA). Out of these, only Anaheim received a second date, so you can still buy tickets for that one.

The tour is set to begin at the end of May 2020 and go through all of June – and according to Simple Plan’s latest statement released just yesterday, as of right now, they are still planning to go ahead with all the shows. What more – they decided to add two more dates – one in Orlando and one in Philadelphia. Given the current world situation with the pandemic coronavirus, we are of course living in fickle times and everything might change from one day to the next. Simple Plan are obviously following all the guidelines and recommendations and if anything were to change, they would keep us updated.

Read their whole statement about the addition of two new dates and their view on their upcoming touring plans below:

“Today, we are announcing 2 new shows on our “Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead” summer tour: Orlando and Philadelphia! Pre-sale tickets are available now and public on-sale is this Friday at simpleplan.com

Letting you know about these new shows this week has been planned for months and after careful consideration, we decided to stick to our initial announcement plans. With the extraordinary and unprecedented events happening right now, it feels a bit strange to be announcing new concerts, but we want to make sure our fans across the country have a chance to see this tour. We fully understand the gravity of the current situation and honestly don’t know what will happen in the next 10-11 weeks, but we remain hopeful that we will able to perform for you and that the tour will go on as planned.

If anything changes and the health authorities maintain their recommendations to avoid large gatherings of people into the months of May and June, you can count on us to obey all guidelines, reschedule these shows and never put your safety in jeopardy. We truly hope we won’t have to do this and that life will return to normal in time, but at this point, the truth is, we just don’t know.

In the meantime, please stay safe and take care of each other. We will get through this and can’t wait to hang out with all of you very soon!”

Simple Plan forced to cancel Disney World appearances this weekend due to coronavirus

To great sadness to many fans, who were supposed to attend Simple Plan’s 4-day concert appearances at the Walt Disney World in Florida this weekend, Simple Plan released an official statement yesterday that out of concern for their fans’ health as well as their own they’ve decided to cancel all of their Disney appearances this weekend. Just like many other events in the recent weeks, this cancelation decision was also made as a precaution for the current outbreak of the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus, which has recently been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

This news came only a few hours before the Walt Disney World resort announced they would be closing down the entire park on Sunday, March 15th. Simple Plan’s appearances were originally supposed to take place from March 13th to 16th and it was supposed to be the fourth time in a row they would perform as a part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series at Walt Disney World. In the past years, the band members have also been known to take their families – including wifes and children – to this event.

Read Simple Plan’s official statement about this unfortunate cancelation below:

In light of the unprecedented and extraordinary developments surrounding the coronavirus outbreak over the last 24 hours, it is with great sadness and regret that we have decided to cancel our 4 shows planned for this weekend at the Garden Rocks Concert Series at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Although Walt Disney World remains open at this time, we feel that this is the right thing to do and the correct decision for our band and our fans at this moment.

We know a lot of you had planned to attend the shows and travel from all over the world to be there, and that this news will be extremely disappointing. We understand your frustration and would like to apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this will cause. Playing these shows at Disney with our families and all of you there has become one of our favorite yearly traditions and we are absolutely devastated and heartbroken to not be able to perform for you. We hope to be back as soon as possible and make it up to all of you.”

First four sold-out shows of SP’s tour with NFG: Simple Plan add new Anaheim date!

It didn’t take long and just within the first few days of tickets being available for the recently announced Simple Plan U.S. tour with New Found Glory called the ‘Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour, four dates are already sold-out: New York City, Boston, Chicago and Anaheim.

But if you’re from California and you missed out on the Anaheim tickets, don’t fret! Due to such popular demand, Simple Plan and New Found Glory decided to add a second show for Anaheim – on June 24th.

Make sure to buy your tickets while you can – the venues are fairly small (from around 1500 to 3500 people) and the line up – Simple Plan, New Found Glory and the opening band Knuckle Puck – is just a pop-punker’s dream come true, so more shows are expected to be sold-out soon.

Recap of Simple Plan’s UK tour: band teases a possible European tour in the fall!

A week has gone by and by now, the members of Simple Plan have already packed their bags are headed back home across the big pond, after their 6-stop UK tour with Bowling For Soup, where they’ve visited Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, London and Brighton.

This pretty much sold-out tour (the only not sold-out date was Brighton) entitled ‘Together Again: You’re Welcome’ brought together old friends Bowling For Soup and Simple Plan on tour for the first time in almost 16 years. The result of it was a jam-packed night in every city they’ve visited and thousands of happy pop-punk fans.

Over the course of the tour, Simple Plan’s setlist has remained the same pretty much every night, besides Manchester, where Pierre apparently performed a cover of Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’. The setlist was of course much shorter than Simple Plan’s regular show setlists, as they were the opening band on this tour:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jump
3. Welcome To My Life
4. Shut Up!
5. Boom!
6. Addicted
7. What’s New Scooby Doo?
8. Summer Paradise
9. Where I Belong
10. I’m Just A Kid
11. Perfect

The most important news that we can share with you from our attendance of the Simple Plan show in London, is that on stage Pierre mentioned that the band plans to return to Europe for a proper tour by the end of the year, hopefully around fall. For the dates however, we’re going to have to wait for a bit.

Until then, make sure to browse through the following albums in our gallery for some of the first photos from the Simple Plan/Bowling For Soup UK tour:
