Simple Plan add Australian sideshows to Good Things Festival for this December!

This December, Simple Plan will be embarking on a long journey back to Down Under, where they are scheduled to appear at this year’s edition of the Good Things Festival alongside bands like Enter Shikari, Parkway Drive or A Day To Remember.

Rumors have been going around for quite some time now, whether some of the bands would be prolonging their stay in Australia by playing a couple of sideshows besides the Good Things Festival. And the good news came in just last night when it was officially announced that some of the bands on the festival’s bill will truly be playing a number of shows around Australia in December.

Simple Plan will be appearing at two more shows besides the three dates of the festival (Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane) and these sideshows will take place in Gold Coast (December 10th) and Adelaide (December 12th). The guys will be playing in quite intimate venues (Gold Coast’s CBD Live fits only 1300 people while Adelaide’s HQ is fit for 2200), so chances are these shows will sell out quick. Simple Plan reveal limited edition poster for co-headlining tour with State Champs

Only 4 days separate us now from the long-awaited return of Simple Plan on a proper tour – this time around on a co-headlining tour with State Champs across the United States that will kick off on October 29th in Richmond, VA.

In order to make this tour even more special, the two bands decided to hire a freelance graphic designer to design a special limited edition poster for this tour. Pat Hamou, a Montreal based artist, who specializes on music-related art was the one they picked to create this beautiful artwork, very likely inspired by the song ‘Where I Belong’, which the two bands released only a couple weeks ago.

This limited edition 24 x 18” screen print poster will be available every night on the ‘Where I Belong’ tour during this October and November. And since only 1000 copies will be printed, it’s first come first serve! So definitely make sure to grab this piece of beauty to commemorate this special tour for years to come.

You can either check out the poster in full here or watch the teaser video/gif for it below:

Simple Plan replaced The Offspring as headliners of Four Chords Music Festival & performed ‘Self Esteem’

On Sunday, October 6th, Simple Plan were scheduled to be a part of the Four Chords Music Festival, which was held in Pittsburgh, PA alongside acts such as The Offspring, Anberlin or Knuckle Puck. Unfortunately, due to illness, The Offspring had to pull out of performing on said festival and it was announced only a few hours before the start of the festival that Simple Plan would now be closing the festival as headliners.

Even with big shoes too fill and a big crowd to win over after such a disappointment, Simple Plan didn’t hesitate and took over the show in a big way. And to cheer the fans of The Offspring, who couldn’t unfortunately see their band live at this event that day, they decided to add their own rendition of The Offspring’s song ‘Self Esteem’ to their setlist. Watch Simple Plan perform this classic hit below:

Just as promised, this tour will be a Bowling For Soup headlining tour with Simple Plan and Not Ur GirlFrenz opening. This is the first time since 2003 that Simple Plan and Bowling For Soup will be touring together, hence the well-chosen name of the tour: ‘Together Again’.

The ‘Together Again’ tour will take the three bands on a week-long stay in the UK, hitting the following cities in mid-February: Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Brighton.

Tickets go on sale September 27th so make sure to get yours!

Below you can also check out the announcement from Jaret from BFS, Pierre from SP and a member of Not Ur Girlfrenz:

And here’s some more words from Jaret and Pierre about this special BFS/SP tour:

“In 2003, we toured with Simple Plan for the better part of a year. We brought them to the U.S. and then to the UK for our first really big headline tour. Both of us went on to do so much, running into one another on Warped tour and various festivals around the world. When the opportunity came to bring our original “little bros” back to the UK, we jumped at the chance! I am so stoked for these shows. Between the two of us, that’s a lot of hits!! Plus, watching Not Ur Girlfrenz do their thing is never not fun!!! Can. Not. Wait!!!”

– Jaret Reddick –

“We are absolutely thrilled to once again tour the UK with our great friends and pop-punk heavyweights, Bowling For Soup! It’s crazy to think that the last time we played here together was 16 years ago. The fact that both of our bands are still here and playing bigger venues than ever before is absolutely incredible and we couldn’t be more grateful to all the fans in the UK who have supported us for all these years and made this tour possible. We can’t wait to play for you! See you at the shows!”
