Simple Plan to possibly release ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as new single

You may remember that just last week I started a poll on this website, asking you to vote for the song that you, as fans, would like to see Simple Plan release as their third single off Taking One For The Team. The results showed that most of you thought the best choice for single #3 would be ‘Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching’ with ‘Farewell’ and ‘I Refuse’ tied as your second and third option. Of course, these were all just fans’ tips and preferences, not influencing the band’s decision whatsoever.

And what was the band’s final decision, you ask? Well, we can’t be 100% sure, as the band has not confirmed this information yet, however a certain new song is slowly making its way towards various radio stations. It looks like after ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’ and ‘Singing In The Rain’, Simple Plan are ready to slow things down a bit by possibly releasing ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as their next single.

Our reader Tum from Thailand let us know today that one of the most popular radio stations in Thailand, Eazy FM 105.5 recently added ‘Perfectly Perfect’ into the radio’s rotation. The possible single is also featured on their this week’s TOP 20 chart, where it holds #17 as a “new addition”. Interestingly, the song does not feature any official single artwork yet and the artwork for the TOFTT album has been used instead.

As Simple Plan are heading to Bangkok, Thailand in less than a week (September 8th), it would be a good strategy to release a new single on the local radio stations around this time. However, as I mentioned before, the single has not been confirmed by the band yet, even though its release seems highly likely at this point.

Fun fact: Perfectly Perfect was actually the 4th song on the list of the songs fans wanted as the next single!

What do you think of the possible new Simple Plan single? Do you think it may do well on the radio? Also – be on a look-out and let us know if you hear ‘Perfectly Perfect’ on any of your local radio station!

VOTE: Which single should Simple Plan release next?

It’s been a couple months now that Simple Plan have released ‘Singing In The Rain’ as their second official single from their new album ‘Taking One For Team’ (after the first single ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’). Besides these two songs, the band has also released three buzz singles, two of which even received a music video treatment, even though these songs weren’t sent to be played on radios. These songs were ‘Boom’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Sad’ and ‘Opinion Overload’. That means there’s not that many choices left as to what their third oficial single from the record could be.

Now let’s put our heads together and let’s see which song the fans think would be a great third single!

Now remember – a single should be a song that could do well on a radio. That means a song that could persuade maybe even a diferent kind of audience than their fanbase consists of already. At the same time though, it should also be a song that represents the band – because the song’s style may then become the type of style the general public will then connect to the band’s name with.

Remember, this is no official poll and its results may not persuade the band to choose their next single. But it will be interesting to check out what their fans would like to see the band release next.

So which song should be the next Simple Plan single, according to you?

Simple Plan enter TOP 30 on HOT AC radio with Singing In The Rain

Simple Plan are slowly but surely still moving up the U.S. charts with their latest single ‘Signing In The Rain’! With a little help of their recent acoustic promo tour across the U.S. radio stations, the band’s single managed to rise up two positions to take the #30 spot this week, which has finally moved them to TOP 30 most played songs on HOT AC radios.

Update: The song moved up to #29 as of the end of the week on July 10th!

According to the Mediabase statistics, the song has already been played 811 times so far this week, as opposed to the 756 plays in the whole previous week. The last time we saw a significant move like hat was in May, when the band reached TOP 40.
