Simple Plan to possibly release ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as new single

You may remember that just last week I started a poll on this website, asking you to vote for the song that you, as fans, would like to see Simple Plan release as their third single off Taking One For The Team. The results showed that most of you thought the best choice for single #3 would be ‘Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching’ with ‘Farewell’ and ‘I Refuse’ tied as your second and third option. Of course, these were all just fans’ tips and preferences, not influencing the band’s decision whatsoever.

And what was the band’s final decision, you ask? Well, we can’t be 100% sure, as the band has not confirmed this information yet, however a certain new song is slowly making its way towards various radio stations. It looks like after ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’ and ‘Singing In The Rain’, Simple Plan are ready to slow things down a bit by possibly releasing ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as their next single.

Our reader Tum from Thailand let us know today that one of the most popular radio stations in Thailand, Eazy FM 105.5 recently added ‘Perfectly Perfect’ into the radio’s rotation. The possible single is also featured on their this week’s TOP 20 chart, where it holds #17 as a “new addition”. Interestingly, the song does not feature any official single artwork yet and the artwork for the TOFTT album has been used instead.

As Simple Plan are heading to Bangkok, Thailand in less than a week (September 8th), it would be a good strategy to release a new single on the local radio stations around this time. However, as I mentioned before, the single has not been confirmed by the band yet, even though its release seems highly likely at this point.

Fun fact: Perfectly Perfect was actually the 4th song on the list of the songs fans wanted as the next single!

What do you think of the possible new Simple Plan single? Do you think it may do well on the radio? Also – be on a look-out and let us know if you hear ‘Perfectly Perfect’ on any of your local radio station!

Fans make Simple Plan extend their encore in South Korea

After 5 years, Simple Plan returned to Seoul, South Korea on September 1st with another electric performance.

According to the band, this was one of the best shows of the tour and the crowd was so great, that after fans started demanding it, the band decided to spontaneously extend their regular setlist and one additional song – Take My Hand – before the closing song Perfect. This is a very rare thing for Simple Plan to add a song to their setlist on the spot – in fact this may have been the first time the band has done that, at least on this current tour!

You can have a look at the moment Simple Plan decided to prolong their setlist in the following video:

RECAP: Simple Plan webchat on FUSE

During their promo day in New York City yesterday, the members of Simple Plan also visited the FUSE station studios in the late afternoon, where they atended a live webchat, which the fans were able to stream on FUSE’s Facebook page.

In this webchat, Simple Plan discussed a number of topics, but here’s a recap of the most interesting stuff the band has mentioned:

About the possibility of releasing an acoustic album: “We’re thinking about it, we’ve talked about it and it MAY happen.” – Pierre
About ‘What’s New Scooby-Doo’: “We’ve been talking about this – we wanna start playing it live.” – Pierre
About next single: “There might be [one], but we can’t tell you…” – Pierre
About working on next record: “I’m actually recording some tidbits on my phone that I think might sound good on the next record.” – Pierre

Simple Plan covered Green Day’s ‘Good Riddance’ in Connecticut!

Tuesday was a pretty busy day for the 4 members of Simple Plan, who take part in the acoustic sets, as according to their schedule, they were supposed to perform two acoustic shows on that day. First, the boys headed to Orange, Connecticut, where they played for the audience of the Star 99.9 radio station and later that day they drove to Hartford, Connecticut, where they had an ‘Acoustic Café’ appearance scheduled for the 96.5 TIC radio station.

Check out the first pictures from both of these performances in te gallery:

The biggest surprise of the second show though was the part when Simple Plan decided to cover Green Day’s song ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’. Check out the short video of this cover that the boys posted up on their Snapchat:

Simple Plan surprised with two special live collabs at Innu Nikamu

Last night during their show at the Innu Nikamu festival in Sept-Iles, Simple Plan brought not just one, but two surprise acts on the stage!

Firstly, during ‘Jet Lag’, the singer Mariame, who was a part of the festival’s line-up, performed the female vocals on the English verstion of the song and therefore will soon be added to the ever-growing list of female singers who sang on Jet Lag. Check out a short video of this live collaboration below:

The next collaboration that took place that day at Innu Nikamu was the one of Simple Plan with Shauit. Shauit, originally from the native community of Maliotenam in Northern Quebec, is a Canadian singer/song-writer, who sings in French, English and his native Innu language. Simple Plan invited him to sing the Sean Paul version of their song ‘Summer Paradise’, where Shauit very credibly delivered all Sean Paul’s lines.
