Simple Plan celebrate Canada Day in Brampton, Canada

Yesterday to celebrate the national day of Canada – Canada Day, Simple Plan performed in Brampton, Canada for free along with acts such as Kim Mitchell, Amasic and Andee. Before they hit the stage and when Andee was on, the Canadian singer surprised the Simple Plan fans by inviting no-one other but Sebastien Lefebvre, who helped her produce her new record, to play “Never Gone” live. You can check out the full performance on the video below (thanks Tasha for sending it in):

And of course below you can check out some photos from this performance of Andee and Seb together on stage during her show and also some pictures from the backstage, where SP met up with some of the performers (Andee and the guys from Amasic), with fans and others:

And finally it is time to mention the Simple Plan concert itself. According to Tasha, the setlist was almost identical to the one from Kirkland Lake, except that this time around Simple Plan didn’t play This Song Saved My Life, Thank You and Crazy. Nevertheless, the local fans were treated with a special female guest for the song “Jet Lag” when Simple Plan invited Andee to the stage to sing on the song with them for the first time.

Omnium Gervais-Talbot event donates $50 000 to the Simple Plan Foundation

Just like every year, the charitable organization Omnium Gervais-Talbot, founded by two Canadian hockey players – Max Talbot (Colorado Avalanche) and Bruno Gervais (Adirondack Phantoms), held a charitable golf tournament at the Gold St-Hyacinthe golf club in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. And just like last year, all the profits from the event will be going to the Simple Plan Foundation, which meant that of course the members of the band were also present at the event.

The day started with a golf tournament that Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan took part in, because being a drummer didn’t allow him to be a part of the acoustic performance of his band, so he wanted to be involved in a different way. The rest of the band joined him during the evening and all of them were (just like last year) handed a cheque for $50 000 for their Foundation on behalf of Omnium Gervais-Talbot.

Pictures from yesterday’s event ca alreay be found in the gallery. You’ll notice that David seems to be wearing an orthotics on his right arm; however that didn’t seem to be in way of him performing that evening with the band, so fans who’ll be attending the upcoming concerts of Simple Plan don’t need to fret.

VIDEO: Pierre’s interview on Ça commence bien

Thanks to Jan you can now check out the video from Pierre’s appearance on his friend’s Patrick Langlois’ morning TV show ‘Ça commence bien’ two days ago, where he discussed many topics including the upcoming album and the Reset reunion. You can read the recap of this French interview in this post and you can finally watch the interview here:

FULL SHOW: Reset reunion at Amnesia Rockfest

Big thanks to Luigi for sending me the link to the full recorded show of Reset from their reunion at Amnesia Rockfest a few days ago. In the 45 minute set the band played 11 songs in total (which I have updated in the setlist from that show). Interestingly enough, Reset even played “Friend” which is thought to be a song written by Pierre about Chuck after his departure from the band.

The video was taken with a gopro so you can see the Reset show from a whole different perspective. Enjoy:

More info, new photo and trailer for Jeff’s “The Event” documentary

As announced last week, starting next week, from July 2nd, the subscribers of the Bell TV app will be able to watch the brand new documentary called “The Event” in English or “L’événement” in French, which will document everything that goes into organizing big events such as music festivals. Jeff Stinco took a huge part in the production of this documentary and will also be narrating all 8 episodes – in both languages. Throughout the summer, the 30-minute-long episodes will only be available on the Bell TV app, but in September they should be available online.

At a press conference announcing this project, Jeff said: “I am very proud to participate in this production because it gives me the chance to be creative and show what it takes to organize a large event. What interests me is looking more at the people from behind the scenes, without whom nothing would be possible.”

Here you can check out yet another photo from the filming of the documentary – featuring Jeff [thanks to Lien Multimedia]:
