VIDEO: Pierre joined Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus for ‘I’d Do Anything’ during Simple Creatures DJ set in Australia

On the night before his first show back in Australia today at Good Things Festival, Pierre Bouvier headed out to the Stay Gold club yesterday, December 5th, where Simple Creatures (a musical duo featuring Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low and Mark Hoppus from blink-182) performed a special DJ set.

The guys then invited their old pal to join them during the set to sing his own band’s song – Simple Plan’s ‘I’d Do Anything’, accompanied by Alex and also Mark Hoppus, hence this becoming the first ever live featuring of Mark Hoppus on this song, which he had lent his vocals to back on Simple Plan’s debut album in 2002.

Check out the images from this special appearance of Pierre in our gallery and below you can watch the entire performance from many angles thanks to the Instagram Stories by Peter John, Pierre, Simple Plan and also thanks to a video sent to us by Leeann – thank you! Enjoy:

VIDEO: Simple Plan performing in Los Angeles

Before Simple Plan head back to Australia, where they are set to perform at the Good Things Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as well as at two more side-shows in Gold Coast and Adelaide, let’s have a little look back at their last moments in the U.S.

One of the most anticipated shows of the U.S. tour with State Champs, as always, was the one in Los Angeles, since it’s where two of the band members (Pierre and Chuck) reside as well as their families and many of their friends as well. The guest list was packed and fans were able to see many familiar faces watching their set, including Avril Lavigne, Frank Borin or Machine Gun Kelly.

Check out the following amazing recap video filmed by Chady at this special show:

Behind the scenes look at the filming of the music video for ‘Where I Belong’ feat. State Champs and We The Kings!

It was just a matter of time: three bands who had already got together previously to create a song together then head out on a joint tour. What better time than that to film a music video for said song!

Indeed – while on their U.S. tour, the members of Simple Plan, State Champs and We The Kings decided to make use of the fact that all of them were together at one spot and decided to film a music video for their song ‘Where I Belong’ at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, where they were to perform yesterday.

Thanks to some of the band members’ active social media presence, we’ve been able to get ahold of a few looks at the behind the scenes of the filming of this music video, which will be featuring scenes of the members of all three bands together as well as shots of just the lead singers – Pierre, Derek and Travis… and their lightsabers?

Check out some of the pictures from the filming here in our gallery and below we put together a bunch of Instagram Stories you might have missed from the filming as well:

Charles Trippy, We The Kings’ bassist also featured some bits from the filming of this music video in his most recent vlog. Check out the time 3:12 – 4:05:

Update (22/11): Derek DiScanio from State Champs now also published a video from the filming of his part in this music video. Check it out here:

‘Where I Belong’ tour week 2 update: Simple Plan’s tourbus breaks down

Tourbus troubles

When it comes to their tourbuses, especially in America, Simple Plan are not amongst the luckiest bands. You can pretty much bet that at every tour, there is bound to be some sort of bus trouble… and so it was the case this week when on their way from Oklahoma City to San Antonio, Simple Plan’s tourbus broke down again and had to be towed to a service center for repairs, leaving the band stranded in the early hours of Friday morning and 8 hours away from their next show in Texas.

Luckily, Simple Plan’s good friends in We The Kings offered to give them a ride on their bus and because of them all bands safely arrived to San Antonio to perform there last night. As Chuck said: ‘Show must go on!’.

Setlist: new “wild cards” system

During the whole past week, Simple Plan have been slowly making their way from the east coast to the west coast of the U.S. (where their tour finishes) – visiting states like Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Texas. As far as setlist goes, just like we noticed in our previous post, Chuck recently confirmed in an interview for setlist.fm, that the band has introduced a new concept of “wild cards” to their daily setlist. That means there while there is a stable list of songs that the band definitely plays every night, there’s 3 or 4 different slots within the setlist, where the songs are going to change. This way, fans who see the band for multiple dates on a tour, they always get to experience a different show each night.

Listen to Chuck talk about this new “wild cards” system and more in the setlist.fm interview below:

‘Where I Belong’ 1ST WEEK TOUR UPDATE: zombies, proposals and setlist changes!

While here on SimplePlan.cz we took a little week of a break to recharge a little bit, Simple Plan have been busy touring the east coast of the United States and are already almost in the first third of their ‘Where I Belong’ tour with State Champs and We The Kings. So let’s have a look at what we missed, eh?

Setlist

First, let’s have a look at the thing most of you are probably interested in the most: the setlist! Since the first show in Richmond (for which we revealed the setlist a week ago), there were some minor adjustments to the setlist in the past few days. It looks like the band has now omitted ‘Jet Lag’ and ‘Me Against The World’ while adding either ‘You Suck At Love’ or ‘Thank You’ to it instead. The good news is, the setlist still seems to be changing a little bit each night, so you might always have a bit of surprise whenever you get to see them live on this tour.

Here’s the setlist from this Tuesday, when the band played in Worcester, MA:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jump
3. Welcome To My Life
4. Boom!
5. Take My Hand
6. Your Love Is a Lie
7. What’s New Scooby Doo?
8. Addicted
9. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
10. Summer Paradise
11. Thank You
12. Crazy
13. Untitled
14. Where I Belong (feat. Derek DiScanio from State Champs & Travis Clark from We The Kings)
Encore:
15. Shut Up
16. I’m Just A Kid
17. Perfect
The shows

Over the course of the past week, the boys hit the following cities: Richmond, VA, Silver Springs, MD, Huntington, NY, Niagara Falls, NY, Sayreville, NY, Worcester, MA and Grand Rapids, MI. And while all these shows were definitely very memorable for all their attendees, some stood out more than others. For instance, on October 31st, on Halloween, Simple Plan performed in Huntington, NY and to make sure their fans didn’t miss out on Halloween too much, they decided to dress up as zombies. With make-up and everything.

And not only that, the guys also missed a funny zombie sketch that they later also accompanied by a blooper reel video, which you can now both check out here:

Another seriously unforgettable moment – especially for a certain couple – came just a few days ago in Worcester, MA, when another marriage proposal took place on stage during Simple Plan’s set. Check out the full sweet moment, captured on the video below:

Video recaps

The guys also already released a video recapping the first week of shows of the ‘Where I Belong’ tour, documenting the great times they’ve had on stage and behind the scenes with their fans and also with State Champs and We The Kings. Check out this video below:

A similar week one recap video was also released by the guys from State Champs and as expected, it also features a number of shots that include the members of Simple Plan. Have a look at it here:

Photo recaps

And we’ve also finally put together all the photos from the first week of shows and you can now browse through the gallery to see what the ‘Where I Belong’ tour has been like and what we can expect from the upcoming weeks:
