Simple Plan rock the final date of Warped Tour in Mountain View

After 25 years, the legendary alternative festival tour Warped Tour has closed its gates one last time this past weekend, after the final 2-day date in Mountain View, CA, where tens of acts from all across the music scene have gathered to say their goodbye to the Warped stages. Amongst the bands and artists that were there for the final date were besides Simple Plan also acts like The Offspring, We The Kings, Bad Religion, Good Charlotte, Less Than Jake, NOFX, Sum 41 or The All-American Rejects.

Once the 25th-anniversary Warped shows have been announced, it was clear that Simple Plan could not miss out on this opportunity to be part of these special shows, since they have become one of the most often added bands on the Warped bill over the past 25 years. Leaving Warped Tour behind has of course been very emotional and many of the band members had some words to say on their social media as they were saying their goodbyes to this one-of-a-kind experience:

Thanks Kevin Lyman and Vans Warped Tour for 25 years of rad. Warped gave our band a home and place to grow and has definitely played a huge part in our career. Yesterday in Mountain View was 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻.

Simple Plan performed for 60 000 people in Atlantic City at another 25th-anniversary Warped Tour date!

According to some reports, over 60 000 people gathered in Atlantic City, NJ to witness the second of this year’s three special Warped Tour dates to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this legendary touring music festival.

During the first day of the Atlantic City Warped weekend, the festival got unfortunately caught in a thunderstorm and for a brief while, the attendees even had to be evacuated outside of the premises, which also meant that some of the bands’ set times had to be postponed and the sets shortened. In a great Warped Tour spirit however, the fans stuck with their favorite bands and enjoyed every bit of the day, filled with music and other fun activities that the organizers had prepared for them.

Amongst the bands that the attendees were able to check out that weekend were for instance Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Bad Religion, Bowling For Soup, A Day To Remember, We The Kings, Less Than Jake, The Offspring or, of course, Simple Plan.

Our favorite Canadians once again presented an incredibly well-received set, making tens of thousands of people in the attendance jump up and down to some of their biggest hits – and since We The Kings were on the bill too, SP couldn’t miss the opportunity to invite their good friend Travis Clark to come and join them during ‘I’m Just A Kid’. Simple Plan tease the release of their new Warped Tour documentary ‘One Last Warped Summer’

At the official kick off show of this year’s special 25th anniversary Warped Tour concerts in Cleveland, at the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame, the guys from Simple Plan also took part in the opening of the special Warped Tour exhibit, which featured various memorabilia tied to this legendary punk rock summer cross-country festival, which officially ended last year.

As a part of this exhibition, Simple Plan got to premiere a special documentary called ‘One Last Warped Summer’, directed by Peter John, who followed the band on Warped Tour all summer long last year. The full documentary that also includes a number of exclusive interviews, was showed at the Warped Tour exhibit at the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH on Saturday but for the rest of us who missed it, Simple Plan are already making sure to find a way to make this film available to all their fans around the world. David Desrosiers officially returned to touring with Simple Plan last night at Warped Tour after 2 years

Guess who’s back, back again, David’s back, tell a friend!

That’s right! Last night, the members of Simple Plan gathered at the first of three 25th anniversary Warped Tour installments in Cleveland, but this time around it wasn’t just the four of them. After battling depression, focusing on his own mental health and not touring for 2 whole years (ever since May 2017), David Desrosiers, Simple Plan’s bassist and backing vocalist, made a grand return on stage with his band right there yesterday at Warped Tour.

We’re sure you’re as excited as us to finally see him perform with SP, so here you can check out the full Warped Tour set of Simple Plan from last night in Cleveland, OH. Make sure to watch especially the beginning, where at mark 2:08 Pierre officially welcomed David back on stage:

David’s bandmates also couldn’t contain their excitement of their friend being back on the road with them, so some of them took to their social media to express their feelings and properly welcome him back. Let’s have a look at what they wrote:

Finally, we’d like to ask all the fans to keep being as respectful to David, as they’ve been so far for the past 2 years of his journey to recovery. Even though David is back on tour with Simple Plan, it doesn’t mean that we’ll see him take part in all other SP-related activities (interviews, events etc.). Let’s give David a proper welcome and ease up his return as much as we can. We’re ecstatic you’re back, David!
