Simple Plan surprises with a Juno Awards performance with hula girls
Every year, you can always bet to find huge names both on the red carpet and also among the performers at the Canadian Juno Awards. At this year’s show, hosted by Star Trek’s William Shatner, the stage welcomed local Canadian acts like Nickelback, Hedley and Simple Plan.
It was Simple Plan who performed last to wrap the whole evening up and had quite a few surprises for the viewers of the show. Not only they have been joined by the rapper K’Naan, who sings on the original version of the song, but to make the place look a bit more like a “Summer Paradise”, they also had a group of hula girls doing their thing on a side stage. As you can see from one of the backstage pictures, Pierre couldn’t resist and had to try on their costume after their performance as well.

Simple Plan’s acceptance speech for the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award
Thanks a lot to our colleagues over at SPB.com for finding a video of Simple Plan’s acceptance speech at the Juno Gala Dinner last night on March 31st, where they were awarded for their on-going charitable work with Simple Plan Foundation.
After the speech the video continues with a short interview with Jeff Stinco, regarding the award and the band’s involvement with the Foundation and also Jeff mentions today’s special Simple Plan’s performance on the Juno Awards ceremony with K’Naan – the guys apparently still have some surprise for the viewers tonight, revealing only that “the summer’s coming [today] with the Summer Paradise perfromance”.

Chuck’s video from the Juno tour of Canadian art
As you already know from the article I posted earlier this week, Chuck Comeau has been chosen as one of seven Canadian musicians by the organisers of this year’s Juno Awards to become a part of the Juno tour of Canadian art in the National gallery of Canada. His task was to choose one of the visual arts and speak about it in a short video feature.
Chuck chose a painting by Jack Shadbolt, called „Winter Theme No. 7″.

Simple Plan’s new music video: Summer Paradise (feat. Sean Paul)
By clicking on the image below you can watch the brand new Simple Plan music video – this time for the second version of the song Summer Paradise – featuring Sean Paul, which the guys have recorded in Barbados a couple weeks ago with the directors Randall “RT!” Thorne and Mark Staubach.
