Courage My Love about SP: “Every Canadian listened to Simple Plan at some point in their lives!”

BurningStars.net recently did an interview with two members of the Canadian band Courage My Love, who are soon heading out on a tour in Canada, where they will be opening for Simple Plan in September (big thanks to Maureen for sharing her interview with us!). So naturally a part of the interview turned to the topic of this upcoming NPNHJB tour.

The lead singer of the band, Mercedes Arn-Horn, was asked about what she was looking forward to the most on this tour and also whether Simple Plan were a band they’d listen to growing up. Check out her answer in the transcription below or in the actual interview around mark 5:45.

“Oh, definitely. I feel like if you lived in Canada, everyone listened to Simple Plan like… at some point in their lives. So, it’s definitely a dream come true for us. We’ve played with them before but we’ve never done a full tour with them… So, we’re really excited. And just looking forward to hanging with the guys and meeting new people. For sure.”

‘How To Be A Canadian’: CBC Comedy takes a dig at Simple Plan

Ahead of the official celebrations of Canada Day and to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, CBC Comedy released a video entitled ‘How To Be A Canadian’, providing a humorous look at the Canadian culture.

In this over 7-minutes-long video, the creators of course didn’t forget to take a little dig at various Canadian stereotypes – including those tied to the Canadian cultural scene. And among that, Simple Plan could not be missed of course. Move over to mark 1:25 to check out a little dig at SP:

Simple Plan surprise crowd with ‘What’s New Scooby-Doo’ in Newfoundland!

When in Newfoundland on Friday, where they performed their last show before returning home for a couple weeks, Simple Plan pulled out the big guns and decided to surprise their local fans with a track that Canada has not heard in a while!

Arguably one of their most popular songs – despite the fact that not many people are aware it was them who sings the theme song for one of this beloved cartoon – ‘What’s New Scooby Doo?’ was played live at the George Street Canada Day celebrations on Friday. And people were stoked!

VIDEO: Pierre and Callum celebrate end of tour singing along to ‘All The Small Things’ by Blink 182

The last day of June was also the day of the very last Simple Plan show for a little while. Simple Plan performed in Newfoundland and all the way from England they were once again joined by their European guitar tech, who you also know as the lead singer of The Bottom Line – Callum Amies.

The band celebrated the final show before heading home for a couple of weeks of some well-deserved time off by partying and as you will be able to see from the following video, they had a really good time. At one point, the two lead singers – Pierre and Callum – even joined to sing along to Blink 182’s classic – ‘All The Small Things’. Check it out on the videos below, published on Pierre’s Instagram Stories:
