Last night, Pierre, Jeff and Sebastien appeared at the Barktoberfest event in Kansas [stating David and Chuck were sick – although during acoustic sets, it’s common for Chuck not to be there]. Looks like our theory of Simple Plan focusing more on their earlier hits at their shows in the U.S. was correct – the boys brought back ‘Untitled’ to the setlist alongside other well-known songs to the U.S. audience, such as Addicted, I’m Just A Kid, I’d Do Anything, Welcome To My Life or Perfect – all acoustically.
Check out some of the first few pictures from the show here and a video from their ‘Untitled’ performance below:
Simple Plan released some more professional footage, directed by Peter John during their tour in Australia a couple weeks ago. Interestingly enough, Peter John is said to be present at Simple Plan’s U.S. tour in October, filming SP again, so hopefully we’ll see what this whole thing will be about soon.
After Caspar Lee used ‘I’m Just A Kid’ in his recent prank video, another popular YouTube channel have now used another Simple Plan track for their debut album ‘No Pads, No Helmets.. Just Balls’. This time around it was the ClevverTV channel using ‘Perfect’ in a video entitled ’10 Depressing Emo Songs We Used To Love’.
In this video, a number of millenials discuss the song, which brought them oh-so-many memories from their high school era. Check out what they think about ‘Perfect’, the music video and Simple Plan in general in the following video (the part with Simple Plan starts at mark 9:38):
A popular Youtuber Caspar Lee, originally from South Africa, now residing in London, is known for filming various kinds of prank videos, in which he usually involves his friends or family members for his 6.5 million subscribers to see. Yesterday, Caspar uploaded a brand new video, in which he pulled a song lyric prank on his Mom. And it wasn’t just any song lyrics he chose for this video – it was exclusively and only our very own Simple Plan’s first single – I’m Just a Kid. And as of writing this article, the video has already over 800 000 views.
How did Caspar’s Mom react to her 22-year-old son texting her these teen-angst-filled lyrics? Check it out in Caspar’s new video below:
After one day off, Simple Plan returned to the stage last night at the Prince Bandroom venue in the St Kilda district in Melbourne, Australia, where due to a high demand from the fans and a small capacity of the venue (around 1000 people), the band had to plan three back to back shows in total with only a few tickets left for the final show – the rest is sold-out.
The first day of this three-day “Simple Plan residency” at Prince Bandroom took place yesterday and we already have some first information about this gig. The band once again played the “YLIAL” version of their setlist, as you can see from the whole list below. From this, we can assume, that tonight in Melbourne, Simple Plan will most likely play Take My Hand again:
1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump (‚I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching
8. Your Love Is A Lie
9. Singing In The Rain
10. Party medley – Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars cover) & Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd cover)
11. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
12. Farewell
13. Summer Paradise
14. Crazy
15. I’m Just a Kid
Encore:
16. Shut Up!
17 Perfect World
18. This Song Saved My Life (acoustic)
19. Perfect
Since we haven’t had a live video here in a while, have a look at the intimacy of this show on the video below, which captures the band performing ‘Crazy’ last night:
And here’s the first couple of professionally taken pictures from the first show in Melbourne:
