The upcoming Simple Plan music video for “This Song Saved My Life” (directed by David F. Mewa) has been in works for almost three months now and for the band kept on delaying the premiere of the video on and on, which even for SP standards has been a bit too long. Today, Chuck informed the fans on Twitter that the huge delay has been caused by having to get all the permissions to have fans’ own content in the music video.
“I’m super bummed that the [This Song Saved My Life] video is taking so long to get released. I am so sorry for the delay. We can’t wait to show it to you. It has been more difficult than expected to get all the clearances and permissions needed to feature all the fans’ content. We are working on getting everything sorted as quick as possible. Again, sorry for the delay. Hope you enjoy the final result,” said Chuck.
As you know already, the music video should feature not only the band playing all over the world and signing autographs for fans at their book signing in Toronto, but also content made entirely by fans – such as videos and photos – that the fans submitted for the purpose of this music video.
As of right now, the date of the premiere of TSSML music video has not been set yet. Keep checking back for more details.
