Thanks to some observant fans, a situation regarding the sale unofficial VIP tickets for Simple Plan’s appearance at the Musifest festival in Rawdon, Canada on August 13th, came to the surface.
According to a number of Canadian fans, one of the organizers of the Musifest festival has sent out a number of Facebook messages to fans attending the event, asking for money in exchange for tickets to a special VIP after party with Simple Plan. As there was no word on any VIP party on this event on the official website and fearing this was a scam aiming to take money from fans who just wanted to meet their favorite band, the fans took the information directly to Chuck, who took the matter into his own hands. Chuck confirmed this is a scam, the VIP event is fake and has never been authorized by Simple Plan. He also posted the following warning on Twitter in French:
“Someone is selling tickets to a supposed “VIP party” with us after the show Rawdon. This is not an event authorized by us. Please do not buy tickets & do not go to the event. We asked that person to immediately cease soliciting our fans. We are sorry about the situation and we will intervene to cease making misrepresentations and repay the fans.”
If you’ve also been contacted by the solicitor, please do not buy the offered tickets. As of right now, there has been no official VIP party scheduled for the event at Musifest. You can always check whether your event has a VIP ticket option by visiting the official website’s tour section.
