5 years. 5 YEARS. Yet I can still remember August 13th 2007 like it was yesterday when (after months of preparations) I finally turned my previous blog about SP into a proper website and that’s where the story of SimplePlan.cz began.
5 years later, the website now has more than 4600 fans on Facebook and 3400 on Twitter and the last interview with Simple Plan (made in September 2011) is at 8600 views and counting!
I can’t even say how great it feels that after all this time the website still gets new and new visitors every day and most importantly the old ones still like to return. Your support has been one of the fuels of this site and I couldn’t have made it for such a long run without you.
Huge thanks also goes to all the contributors – every single one of you who has ever emailed me, tweeted me or facebooked me about any SP news or new concert dates – all that so that SP.cz could post about it sometimes even before the official website and also those of you who submitted photos or just pointed out any error on the site – I appreciate all of it – it is thanks to you that this fansite can keep bringing very fresh news to the whole community of SP fans.
There is also a couple of people/organisations that have helped SimplePlan.cz a lot in the past few years, and whom I’d like to thank: Atlantic Records (most importantly Amanda), Coalition Entertainment, Warner Music Czech Republic/Supraphon, Viola M. for being my awesome camera girl and a great friend and my counterparts over at SimplePlanBrazil.com – thanks for always being so fair.
And I must not forget the guys who are the main reason this website is still here: David, Pierre, Jeff, Sebastien and Chuck – thanks for staying true to yourselves and thanks for the magnificent support I have received from you in the past few years. You are a one-of-a-kind band that makes their fans their priority and does everything it can to make them happy, make them feel like someone cares. You have no idea how much it means to me.
Same thing goes to the whole tour crew: Cowboy, Frank, Jaye, Paul, Chady, Sean and Sim – you are awesome, thanks for everything.
Aaaaand as a little birthday surprise, I have something awesome in store for all of you and I’ll post about it very soon, so make sure to stay tuned for that!
