During today, Simple Plan’s Jeff Stinco will switch his guitar for a book and a rock puppy puppet, as he is attending the taping of a kids’ TV programme called Bookaboo, which has only very recently been moved from its original UK series to Canada.
Other guests that will be featured in the show (perhaps though in another episode) include for example Canadian figure skater, Joannie Rochette.
And what exactly is this show about? The main character, Bookaboo, is a world-known rockstar/drummer, portrayed by the forementioned rock puppy puppet. But for him to be able to play on stage, he needs someone to read him a book. This way the main goal of the series is to promote book sharing at home by grown ups of all ages and not just for bedtime – but anytime! As a father of two children, Jeff must have definitely gained the reading-to-kids abilities in the past couple of years so he should have no troubles with that – the only thing he is apparently scared of are his acting skills – as he says: “They are pretty non existent.”
Jeff will be reading Bookaboo from two books during the episode – one in English and one in French.
The Bookaboo series will be aired on CBC soon.
