New layout on SimplePlan.cz!

It’s happening! It’s finally happening!

After 4 years, I have finally decided it was about time SimplePlan.cz got some new layout and so I devoted the past 3 weeks to coding and designing and I sure hope it was all worth it in the end! As you can see, I switched the turquois colors for a combination of purple & black, which led to this starry/astronaut-y design.

So, let’s check out what’s new, shall we?

Let’s start from the top – the navigation is now placed above the header – and right below it you can find the links to switch to a different language version of the website (Czech / English), social media links and of course a search form.

Next – the content itself: the site should now be fully responsive – which means that if you open it on your mobile phone or tablet, you should get a slightly different – and most importantly – more simple & effective look: You can toggle the navigation and hide it under the three-bar icon, there is no sidebar – just the content, and the footer is also much simpler in the mobile version.

Another new addition to the website is the lightbox plugin, which now allows you – mostly in the Fan tattoos section – to browse through all the pictures in a pop-up box. This plugin also finally allows me to give credit to each and every one of the fans, who’s tattoos are included – in the info under the poped-up image [on that note – if you find out yours doesn’t include your name, please let me know!].

While you’re scrolling down and reading through the content of the website, you’ll now find a special button appearing in the bottom right corner. This “back to the top” button will help you to give you a lift to the top part of the website, in case you decide to go to a different section through the top navigation, or perhaps just to stare at the black & white picture of our five Canadians for a little longer.

When it comes to the sections, there’s been a couple of changes: the former “Fun” section is now gone and its content – the Fan tattoos section and Tips & Tricks are now located under “Extra“. Also, the former “Domain” and “Internet” sections have been merged into “Online“. If you’re ever unsure of where to find what you’re looking for, I suggest you either use the Site map or the search.

And of course I can’t forget probably my personal favourite part of this new layout – the footer. Right at the bottom of the website, you’ll always be able to find the contact form (which is also located in the “Online” section) and send me a message/question rightaway.

I really hope you’ll enjoy this new design at least as much as you have the last one for the past 4 years. If there are any errors you encounter, please feel free to let me know, I’ll do my best to fix it.
