If for some reason you didn’t manage to watch last night’s live webchat with Chuck, Jeff and later also Sebastien, here is some bad news: the guys failed to record it again, so unfortunately you can’t stream it.
Anyway, I have prepared a little recap of the highlights of the webchat for you:
– first, we were not even 10 minutes in when the guys started discussing SP fans’ tattoos and when Chuck randomly mentioned that he has actually just been on SimplePlan.cz and said there was a cool new section about fan tatooes, which “everybody should definitely check out” and was wondering why the band have never done that on their official website before :)
– about the upcoming European tour: the band has now confirmed the tout will definitely happen between March and April. Plus, Chuck mentioned that all the concerts are now booked and right now the band is only trying to come up with an “amazing band” as an opening band for this tour. Apparently we are in for a treat! :)
– Simple Plan will finally be returning to the United Kingdom, where the band has not toured for many reasons practically since 2008 (not counting the mini-show in London this summer), probably in April
– SP fans have suggested that the band should come up with some new system of “awarding” the fans via their membership on SimplePlan.com, when they reach for example their 20th SP show – the guys really appreciated the idea on the webchat and plan on making it happen
– the guys have confirmed again that meeting them is probably the easiest thing to do, as there are many ways to achieve it:
1) via SP Crew (SP’s official fanclub) – where you can win either a soundcheck party and a meet&greet with the band or now new VIP tickets, which can get you all the way to the backstage to hang out with the band
2) on official autograph sessions, that are sometimes organised during the tour
3) if for any reason you’re not or just don’t want to be a part of SP Crew, there is always plenty of other options on how to meet the band: the guys ALWAYS come out after the show to hang out, sign and take pictures with the fans (you just need to wait a little), plus they are also always willing to sign and take pictures everywhere else where you get to see them – around tourbuses, on the street around the venue, at hotels etc.
