Simple Plan appear in promo video for GRIS prize for students fighting against homophobia

If you’ve been following Simple Plan news for a while, you know that the band gets very involved in a number of social causes with their Simple Plan Foundation. A couple years ago, in cooperation with the GRIS Montreal organization, they created he so called “GRIS-Simple Plan Foundation prize”, which is annually awarded to one students initiative in Quebec, which helps fight against homophobia (see posts about the awards given out in 2015, 2014 and 2013).

GRIS Montreal, who’s goal is to help demystify homosexuality and bisexuality at schools in the whole province of Quebec, recently revealed its new promo video for the GRIS-Simple Plan Foundation prize. The video starts out with Singing In The Rain in the background and with a number of students discussing the subject of homosexuality and how they decided to help demystify it in their own school. In the end of the video, Jeff, Chuck and Sebastien invite more students to take part in this social cause and help make the world a better place.

The prize consists of a $2000 scholarship (which is to be used to finance future activities in their school environment, this time aiming at combating all forms of discrimination – racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.), a commemorative plaque and a certificate for each person who participated in the project.
