Simple Plan brought the most distracting look to MMVAs

Forget about the so-called extravagance of Lady Gaga or Katy Perry: yesterday’s red carpet on the MuchMusic Video Awards was all about Simple Plan, who, despite not having appeared in a giant egg, still managed to draw the most attention.

When the pink limo appeared with five 30-year-olds jumping out of it, dressed in tiny white outfits (each with a different one), some sporting headbands, sweat wristbands and fanny packs, the audience, journalists, hosts and even the passing-by celebrities were mesmerised. Simple Plan attracted everyone with their fierce look a la Plan!, which rocks their official website these days, as well as the cover of their upcoming album that is being released tomorrow.

Canada.com reviewed Simple Plan’s new look as “the most distracting” of all the outfits on this year’s MMVAs:

Simple Plan showed up in a pink limo, but that wasn’t the shocking part. That came moments later, when the members of the band stepped onto the red carpet in teeny tiny white shorts and belly shirts. Of their Richard Simmons-inspired outfits, lead singer Pierre Bouvier told VJ Sarah Taylor, “We’re trying to stay ahead of the curve; this look next year is going to be massive!”

And even though Can’t Keep My Hands Off You didn’t win in its nominated category, Simple Plan pleased the audience with their performance of Jet Lag with a special guest – singer Fefe Dobson. You can check out their concert in the video below:

You can already find a whole bunch of pictures from the MMVAs in the gallery! Make sure to check out the pics from Saturday’s rehearsal, last night’s red carpet, press room (where Simple Plan switched their fabulous costumes for a more decent look) and finally from the performance with Fefe Dobson. The gallery will definitely be updated with more pictures from MMVAs during the whole day, so keep checking back!

So, are you joining the new Plan! fashion style this summer? ;)
