In the past years, Simple Plan have been collaborating with many well=known personalities regarding their charitable efforts with Simple Plan Foundation. One of these people is Russian hockey player Alex Kovalev, who is also involved in charity work – most notably through his own foundation called “Kovalev and Friends Foundation for Children” which supports various charitable causes, mostly regarding the well-being of children with a congenital heart disease.
On October 25th, Pharmaprix hosted a benefit event called “The Tree of Life” with all the proceeds going to Kovalev’s foundation. The event held an auction that included many valuable items, most notably a Simple Plan hockey stick, which has been donated by the Simple Plan Foundation.
Simple Plan have donated items for various Kovalev’s events many times in the past. For example in 2008 it was an autographed picture of the band and a guitar or in 2010 a signed guitar.
