For the fifth time in a row, the annual GRIS ceremony took place in Montreal and Jeff Stinco was there as a representative of Simple Plan to hand over this year’s GRIS-Simple Plan Foundation award, which is being given to schools in Canada, whose students or faculty members actively take an initiative to help fight against homophobia in the school environment.
This year’s award went to the Mountainview elementary school, which organised a Week against homophobia, throughout which the students had the opportunity to attend various workshops which helped them learn more about equality and tolerance. Along with the award, the school also received a $2000 grant.
