After a few years Simple Plan have finally come back to Brazil again, where they were greeted by tons of excited fans – first, when David arrived, they waited for him at the airport and later at his hotel. The rest of the band arrived later, as their flights have been cancelled and had to wait a whole day for the next connection – that also led to the soundcheck in Porto Alegre starting 30 minutes late. But all went well, the band arrived safely and they were yet again welcomed by a huge number of fans both at the airport and at the hotel.
This time, the band played only two shows in Brazil – one headlining one in Porto Alegre on Sunday and the second one as a part of the SWU festival, where apart from them, the fans were able to check out the acts of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg or Duran Duran. On this show, Pierre also pleased the local fans by wearing a t-shirt with a brazilian flag. Last night’s show on SWU was also aired online in certain regions, so there’s no wonder that songs like “Your Love Is A Lie” and most importantly “Welcome To My Life” reached the worldwide trending topics for a couple of hours.
