Simple Plan to be done with the recording of new album within the next month

After Simple Plan finished their 7th week of recording of their upcoming fifth studio album this Friday, Sebastien left for Montreal to spend some time with his family on Saturday, and today Jeff is leaving home too for a few days. The band will be playing the first show of this year this Friday in Moncton, Canada at the city’s 125th anniversary celebrations and it is expected that the singer Andee will join them on the stage. It is yet unknown when the rest of the band will leave Los Angeles for Canada, but it is likely it will be around mid-week.

Regarding the current state of the recording process, Jeff revealed on Twitter today that so far it “sounds sick” but it’s not quite finished yet. According to Jeff, the band still has “2 or 3 more weeks of work” to go before the recording part of the process of creating the new album is done.

Since there probably won’t be much work done on the album during this upcoming week, we can expect Simple Plan to be done recording around mid-May. That is almost 2 weeks less than the band originally anticipated at the beginning of the recording process in March (3 months).
