Simple Plan to release another EP before fifth album!

NOTE FROM SIMPLEPLAN.CZ: A lot of you have corectly guessed that this was indeed a prank post, however I still managed to fool some of you! Hope you enjoyed this bit. I promise no more pranks like that in the next 365 days. Happy April Fools’ Day!

You heard right! Before Simple Plan release their fifth studio album, which is to come out in the summer of 2015, the band has announced their plans to release a follow-up EP to their last one called “Get Your Heart On: The Second Coming!” that was released in 2013.

The new EP, called “Get Your Heart On: Finally Getting Some” [click on the image on the left to view the album cover in full size], will be released May 4th 2015 (date picked by Sebastien Lefebvre “because of reasons”) exclusively only on vinyls and cassettes!

“We have a lot of old-school fans who have been with us for almost 15 years now, so we thought it would be fun to release the second EP the old-school way. I’m stoked for the fans to hear what we came up with,” said Chuck Comeau. When asked why the band chose to release another EP so close to their next full-length album, he replied: “We had more than 40 leftover songs from the last record and 40 more from the song-writing process for our upcoming album and honestly, those files took all the space on my disc, so I had to get rid of them somehow.”

In his recent Instagram post, Comeau also revealed the whole tracklist of the EP, adding that the first song was his favorite. Check it out below:

1. Soon
2. Passport Slap
3. Come To Brazil
4. Astronaut feat. Chris Hadfield
5. Summer Paradise
(no music version)
6. Summer Paradise feat. Zayn Malik (bonus track)

As to what sort of sound the fans should expect from this EP, Simple Plan’s lead singer Pierre Bouvier revealed that the band is “definitely getting back to their roots this time” however that the last song and the rest of the EP are all heavily influenced by what Bouvier calls carribean latin jazz fusion. “It’s a combination of surf sounds, samba, saxophone and David’s new motorbike. He insisted.”

According to Chuck, the EP is also the first of Simple Plan’s music efforts, in which the fans will enjoy Jeff Stinco’s vocals as the band decided his voice was perfect for the chorus of “Passport Slap.” “It’s mostly just a lot of ‘AAAAHs’ though,” said Stinco shyly.

The EP is already available for pre-order for $10.99. Click here to order it now!
