Aerodrome Festival reveals information about security measures

Due to last night’s terrorist attack at a concert in Manchester, many attendees of the upcoming Aerodrome Festival in Prague (which will feature performances of Linkin Park, Simple Plan, Mallory Knox, Machine Gun Kelly, Counterfeit, Enter Shikari and Royal Republic) raised their concerns about security measures at this festival, which is expected to be attended by over 20 000 people.

Rest assured, fans’ security is the promoters’ main concern and nothing will be underestimated.

Regarding police security, the promoters have announced it will be four times the amount of the festival standard. The police will be guarding both the entrance and the insides of the festival grounds. A commando unit will also be present. At 8am, the whole festival grounds will be closed for any incoming vehicle.

If you’re attending this festival, the following information might be very important to you. To ensure security, the security checks at the entrance will be very thorough: a metal detector will be used, which is why you are asked to reduce the amount of metal objects to an absolute minimum). Any hand luggage brought into the festival grounds must not be larger than 40 x 30 cm.

It is forbidden to bring in the following items: weapons of any sort or anything that could be used as a weapon, selfie sticks, umbrellas, drugs, food, drinks, cameras and drones (only small compact cameras will be allowed). It is also forbidden to bring in pets.

I believe that all of our aim is to enjoy June 11th as much as we can, so I hope you will abide by the security rules. Please check the forbidden items again when you’re packing for the festival and please, be considerate of other festival attendees.

Chuck about Simple Plan’s appearance at Aerodrome Festival in Prague

The Czech news website denik.cz published an article today about the upcoming Simple Plan appearance at the Aerodrome Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, which will take place on June 11th, and where Simple Plan will perform alongside Mallory Knox, Machine Gun Kelly, Enter Shikari, Royal Republic, the main headliners Linkin Park and one more band, which will be revealed in the middle of April.

In the article, Deník also briefly quotes an interview with Chuck Comeau about the Aerodrome Festival. Chuck discussed what sorts of events Simple Plan usually perform at and why it is important to them to also perform at festivals besides their own headlining shows:

“We often play in punk-rock clubs, bigger venues and even outdoors. What’s interesting about festivals is that you will find music fans there who might have never heard your music before. And that makes us work even harder to convince them that they are in the right place.”

– Chuck Comeau –

Chuck also mentioned his excitement about seeing his band perform alongside Linkin Park in June:

“We’re really happy to be sharing the stage with them. Even though their music is a bit different from ours, we believe that the visitors of the festival will enjoy both us and them.”

– Chuck Comeau –

An interview about Aerodrome Festival with a member of Simple Plan also aired at the biggest Czech commercial radio station – Evropa 2 – on Friday. The interview featured Jeff and apparently he had some very nice things to say about SimplePlan.cz during this interview. I’m still trying to get my hands on the actual interview – will post it once I receive it.

Aerodrome Festival in Prague adds another name: Mallory Knox – thanks to Simple Plan!

The organizers of this year’s edition of the Aerodrome Festival in Prague, who’s line-up already includes acts such as Simple Plan, Linkin Park, Enter Shikari, Royal Republic and Machine Gun Kelly, have just announced another addition on their line-up: Mallory Knox. As you know, Mallory Knox will also be joining Simple Plan on many other dates of their NPNHJB tour.

And according to the promoters of the festival, it is in fact Simple Plan who are behind the announcement:

“Even though we initially announced that this year’s edition of AF would include 6 bands, here will be 7 bands in total in the end! Thanks to Simple Plan, who came up with the idea (because MK are one of the opening bands on their tour) and thanks to Mallory Knox, who agreed. We are looking forward to Mallory Knox and we will announce the final band’s name in about a month. Enjoy your day and start getting ready for June 11th. It’s going to be a really long day and night!” – Aerodrome Festival

The festival will take place at the Letňany airport in Prague, Czech Republic on Sunday, June 11th.
