All Time Low’s Zack Merrick plays bass on I’d Do Anything in Halifax, Canada

On their recent concert in Halifax, Canada, Zack Merrick, the bassist of All Time Low, joined Simple Plan on stage in the middle of I’d Do Anything, got his hands on David Desrosiers’ bass and played the rest of the song, while David had a chance to freely crowdsurf and sing his heart out.

Mind you, that was not the first time that a member of All Time Low “crashed” a Simple Plan show: the lead singer Alex Gaskarth can be found singing his parts on Freaking Me Out on the current Canadian tour and guitarist Jack Barakat likes to dress in red spandex and show his moves on stage during Simple Plan’s party medley.

On the left side of this post you can check out a picture of David and Zack hugging on stage – this and more pictures from Halifax can be found in the gallery.

And make sure to check out the whole performance of I’d Do Anything that features mr. Merrick in the video below:

Recap of last night’s show in Montreal, Canada

I think that if there was a show that a Simple Plan fan would do anything for to attend, that would be the show in Montreal, Canada. It’s Simple Plan’s hometown, so naturally the atmosphere gets very homey and everytime the guys perform at the Bell Center, it’s always an unforgettable experience – both for the band and the crowd. And yesterday’s show there was exactly that… if not even more.

Since it was their home, the guys were welcomed not only by their fans, but also by their friends and families – for example Frenchie and Patrick Langlois with his son were all in the crowd having lots of fun. And just like it was announced before, Marie-Mai had her little cameo in the middle of Simple Plan’s set, when she showed up on the stage during Jet Lag.

From the reactions of the band (and also from the opening acts), the sold-out show in Montreal that brought in 11 700 people, was one of the best of the whole Canadian tour. “Montreal. I have no words to describe how incredible you were. I’ll never forget tonight. Thank you!” Pierre tweeted just a few moments after wrapping the show up with Perfect.

And speaking of the setlist, the guys changed it up again: this time, though, by cutting it down a little bit – but still keeping The Worst Day Ever and also the acoustic version of Crazy. You can check out the updated setlist from last night in it’s section.

Montreal was the last show of the tour for These Kids Wear Crowns, who said their goodbye to the Canadian crowds before heading Down Under. The tour now continues for the rest of the dates with only All Time Low, Marianas Trench and Simple Plan.

First photos from this show are already available in the gallery (click on the image on top of this article).

And also, I must not forget to mention the addition of some beautiful pictures from the shows in Toronto and London, which were sent to me by Tasha. Thanks!

News from the Canadian tour

The Simple Plan guys are trying really hard to make every single concert on their current Canadian tour a very unique experience and so they planned a couple of more surprises for the fans who will be attending them. One of them, which we’ve already talked about, was the surprise appearance of Fefe Dobson on Jet Lag during Simple Plan’s show in Toronto. You can now check out their performance on YouTube:

Another “surprise” (if we can even call it that) is planned for tonight, when Marie-Mai will be joining Simple Plan on Jet Lag in their hometown of Montreal, Canadai – Marie-Mai confirmed this via her Twitter page.

And speaking of changes on the current Simple Plan tour, it is definitely worth mentioning that the guys have added 4 more songs to their already very long setlist: The Worst Day Ever, My Alien, Everytime (acoustic version) and Crazy (also acoustic version). You can check out the complete up-to-date setlist here.

Yesterday, Simple Plan played one of their biggest shows on their current Canadian tour. More than 9000 fans showed up on their concert in Toronto, Canada, and except for their normal set, they also had something special in store for this particular show: the band welcomes the Canadian singer Fefe Dobson on stage during their performance of Jet Lag. If you can’t remember where you’ve heard her name before – let me remind you of her appearance on Simple Plan’s performance during last year’s MMVAs.
