A sixteen-year-old singer Christina Parie, who was one of the top finalists in the Australian version of the X Factor, met one of her favourite bands of all time today – Simple Plan. The band chose her to be the band’s Australian “Natasha Bedingfield” – a female singer who will be accompanying the band during Jet Lag live on stage during their Australian tour – after seeing her cover of Jet Lag on YouTube.

Today, the members of Simple Plan arrived to the airport in Vietnam, where they were greeted by a number of local fans, who wanted to say goodbye and maybe catch one last picture or an autograph.

From Vietnam, Simple Plan flew to Singapore, from where they got onto a doubledecker plane and headed to Australia, where they will be spending the next three weeks touring with the bands We The Kings and The Never Ever. Also, the appearance of the singer Christina Parie has been made official today and she will be indeed joining Simple Plan during their song Jet Lag for the whole tour except for their last appearance at the Race&Rock festival in Darwin.

Everytime Simple Plan go on tour, they always try to spice up their concerts with something in order to make them even more special for their fans. In the last year, ever since Get Your Heart On! came out, we have witnessed them for instance inviting local female singers to sing Jet Lag with them on stage – the parts that were originally sung by Natasha Bedingfield.

And because Simple Plan are heading to Australia in only a couple of days, it was about time to choose the next lady who would be able to manage such task. That’s why Chuck spent last night going through various covers of Simple Plan songs on YouTube made by their fans and there he came across a cover of Jet Lag by a 16-year-old Christina Parie, who is mostly known in Australia for being one of the top finalists in the local version of the X Factor.

Chuck was very impressed with Christina’s version of Jet Lag and through Twitter he congratulated her for such an amazing cover and publicly invited her to come and join them on stage during their Australian tour and sing Jet Lag live. Of course, Christina accepted this opportunity and noted: “To think one of my favourite bands of all time would ask me this… Dreams DO come true!”
