Pierre and Chuck again co-writing for Faber Drive

Simple Plan and Faber Drive go way back. Practically since 2008 when Faber Drive and Metro Station opened for Simple Plan on their big Canadian tour. In the following years, the fellow Canadians stayed in touch: first, Faber Drive invited Pierre to co-write lyrics to some songs on their second album “Can’t Keep A Secret”, which turned out to be the songs “G-G-Get Up And Dance” and “Our Last Goodbye”.

Plus, it’s been only few months since we’ve informed you that the members of Simple Plan – Pierre and Chuck – are yet again collaborating with Faber Drive on some of their new song-lyrics.

The third studio album by Faber Drive is still not done and it appears that the members of Simple Plan will not stop by writing just one song with/for them. Few days ago, Chuck scared his Twitter fans a little bit by pointing out he’s back in studio with Pierre, even though their album should be completely ready. Apparently they “love song-writing”. But don’t you worry: Simple Plan’s album is indeed done and (hopefully) we are not expecting any more postponing. But then again, what were they doing in the studio? The studio mystery has been solved yesterday, when Dave Faber from Faber Drive posted that he’s in LA writing more songs for FD’s upcoming album, and again he’s co-writing with Simple Plan:

Emanuel Kiriakou collaborates on Simple Plan’s new album!

It seems like the upcoming Simple Plan’s record is gonna be filled with many different producers and song-writers. As of right now, with names like Claude Kelly, David Hodges, Jim Irvin, Michael Warren, Julian Emery or Rivers Cuomo, we can also count on Mr. Emanuel Kiriakou, who stated in his recent tweet that along with Chuck, they are currently listening to their new songs (and added the photo you can check out on the right side).

Emanuel Kiriakou is an American producer, song-writer and singer, who has already worked in the past with such artists as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Bowling For Soup or Backstreet Boys.

The role he plays on the 4th Simple Plan’s album – if he co-produced, co-wrote or co-sang the songs – still remains a secret, though.

Another featuring on the new Simple Plan record?

For a few days now we already know that there should be some sort of a secret featuring on the new Simple Plan album – that means a special guest, who would be singing at some parts of a certain song. The first recorded featuring was mentioned by Jeff at the beginning of November. The second one we’ve learned about only a couple days back, when Pierre and Chuck recording some special vocals in LA.

Today, Jeff unleashed on his Twitter the following:

It doesn’t stop: someone really awesome just contributed a guest vocal on the record at the last minute. will tell you, just can’t right now.

So what do you think? Does it all mean we can expect more special guests or just one? And who might it be?

Album is 95% finished, what’s next?

The highly anticipated fourth Simple Plan album is after 3 months of recording almost completely finished: the guys have left the Van Howes studios in Vancouvers already a few days ago. Yesterday, Pierre and Chuck flew to the Conway Studios in Los Angeles to meet a certain someone, who’s identity still remains a secret, who will be participating on the new record as a special guest.

The band seems to be really excited about this collaboration. Jeff noted: “You guys will love the new record. Even more after you hear this guest vocal, i’m sure about it.”

After yesterday’s recording, the record should be finished – the next step is mixing and mastering, which are the final parts of a recording process, that make the album even better.

According to the band members, we should be expecting the record to drop out around March 2011. Which means we’re almost there – now the only things left are: figuring out the album’s title, create the album cover and set the release date. How would you deal with the final steps? What should the record be called? What should be on the cover?

Simple Plan to co-write Faber Drive lyrics again

Dave Faber from the band Faber Drive, which you may remember as one of the opening bands on the Simple Plan’s summer Canadian tour of 2008, tweeted yesterday that he met with Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan and that they had a little songwriting session together for some new Faber Drive lyrics:

It is not the first time that Faber Drive are collaborating with Simple Plan – on the most recent Faber Drive’s album “Can’t Keep A Secret” Pierre co-wrote two songs: “Our Last Goodbye” and “G-Get Up And Dance”.
