Simple Planhave announced today a very surprising news – just in a few days, the guys will be taking off on a plane on a way to Japan, where they are attending a special acoustic concert for only 300 people on Wednesday, May 25th. 150 pairs of tickets can only be won through Noize.tv. After this show, the guys will most probably be going straight to Europe, where they are scheduled to play few festivals and their own headlining shows.
And let’s stay with news about Japan for a while Our colleagues on SPB.com found out that the japanese version of Get Your Heart On! will include 13 songs in total – that means 2 bonus songs compared to the normal version of the album. The bonus songs will be Jet Lag (feat. Marie-Mai) and one, yet unknown song.
According to Chuck, the French version of Jet Lag will also be available on the versions of Get Your Heart On! released in all French-speaking territories.
Yesterday’s evening must have been one of the most important in Simple Plan’s career – the guys had the first opportunity to play the new songs from their upcoming album Get Your Heart On! in front of their Canadian audience and therefore capture the first reactions to the new tracks and find out if all the 2-years-long work was not just a complete waste of time.
It has been pretty obvious for the whole day that the night was going to be very emotional for the guys in the band. ” Not gonna lie, I’m a bit nervous for tonight: never played the new songs before… Last night, I couldn’t fall asleep: my mind couldn’t stop practicing the new songs,” admitted Jeff to his Twitter followers before the concert. “The most stressful thing is that we don’t want to disappoint each other.”
Thankfully the night went on great. According to Le Journal De Montreal, Simple Plan started off the sold out show in Le National in Montreal, Canada with You Suck At Love, and then continued with the following: Can’t Keep My Hands Off You, Astronaut, Loser Of The Year, Anywhere Else But Here, Last One Standing, Summer Paradise, This Song Saved My Life, Freaking Me Out and Jet Lag – for the last mentioned song, the guys were joined by Marie-Mai, who sings on the French version.
The fans were informed this was an exclusive show and were asked not to record it. All this in order to keep the songs a mystery till the new record’s official release date.
Journal Metro wrote that the guys really did play only 10 songs out of 11 (from Get Your Heart On!), which means Gone Too Soon has not been played live yet. Also, it is now clear that the only ballads on the album will be “This Song Saved My Life” and “Astronaut”.
According to Canoe.ca, the fans reacted amazingly to all the new songs, but Freaking Me Out was definitely perceived by the audience as the best song of the show.
The rest of the show was then devoted to songs from the previous three albums.
Apart from their own songs, Simple Plan also came up with a cover versions of Cee Lo’s “Fuck You”, Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” and Pink’s “Raise Your Glass”, check it out:
You can check out the first photos from the concert and from backstage in the gallery and keep checking back for updates during the whole day.
Jet Lag Airlines’ last flight to Paris revealed two new photos from the photoshootu for the new Simple Plan album – Get Your Heart On! The photos are edited into a puzzle, so you have to use a bit of your imagination to create the whole image in your mind – but it won’t be that hard – some of the pictures can be found on the posters of the Get Your Heart On! album cover.
Apart from these pictures, make sure to also check out the two new pictures from April 30th, when Sebastien and Patrick visited the Creative Recreation store.
And a little footnote – those, who preordered the largest bundle of the Get Your Heart On! record will get an email today with the full version of You Suck At Love. That should also mean that the song will probably go viral within the next few hours. I would like to ask you all, either out of respect to the band or to those who actually bought the bundle, please don’t share the links to download or stream the song anywhere on this website. Thank you.
It hasn’t been even a week since the new album cover for Get Your Heart On has been revealed, and we are already getting some of the photos that you may find on it. Check out two more additions from the Chapman Baehler photoshoot in our gallery:
