Simple Plan and New Found Glory forced to postpone co-headlining tour amidst COVID-19 pandemic

What many U.S. fans have feared in the last few weeks has unfortunately become true. Simple Plan and New Found Glory, who were supposed to finally head out on a co-headlining ‘Pop-Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour in the United States this summer, have now announced that due to COVID-19, the bands are forced to postpone the tour indefinitely.

But rest assured – this tour WILL happen. Just gotta wait a little longer until things go back to normal again.

You can read the full statement below:

“We are very disappointed to announce that we have to postpone our « Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead » co-headlining tour with New Found Glory, scheduled to take place this spring / summer.

Because of the extraordinary situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic and based on the current information we have, it has become abundantly clear that playing these shows will simply not be possible, no matter how badly we want them to happen.

Please rest assured that this tour WILL take place and that we are working very hard on multiple scenarios to reschedule the dates, in collaboration with NFG’s team and all the promoters. As of right now, and because of the changing nature of the situation, we don’t know exactly when the tour will be able to take place, but please know that both bands are deeply committed to playing these shows for you, as soon as it is considered safe to do so.

We know this really sucks and we are so bummed to have to do this, but your health and safety has always been our number one priority and we truly have no choice.

We promise to keep you updated as soon as we have any new information.

Please take care of yourselves, stay safe and stay home so we can beat this virus and get back to doing all the things we love the most.”

Simple Plan’s summer U.S. tour begins to sell out – band adds new dates in Orlando and Philadelphia!

Tickets for Simple Plan’s and New Found Glory’s co-headlining ‘Pop-Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour have been on sale for a little over a month now and so far 7 dates are already sold-out: St Petersburg (FL), New York (NY), Boston (MA), Chicago (IL), Minneapolis (MN), Salt Lake City (UT) and Anaheim (CA). Out of these, only Anaheim received a second date, so you can still buy tickets for that one.

The tour is set to begin at the end of May 2020 and go through all of June – and according to Simple Plan’s latest statement released just yesterday, as of right now, they are still planning to go ahead with all the shows. What more – they decided to add two more dates – one in Orlando and one in Philadelphia. Given the current world situation with the pandemic coronavirus, we are of course living in fickle times and everything might change from one day to the next. Simple Plan are obviously following all the guidelines and recommendations and if anything were to change, they would keep us updated.

Read their whole statement about the addition of two new dates and their view on their upcoming touring plans below:

“Today, we are announcing 2 new shows on our “Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead” summer tour: Orlando and Philadelphia! Pre-sale tickets are available now and public on-sale is this Friday at simpleplan.com

Letting you know about these new shows this week has been planned for months and after careful consideration, we decided to stick to our initial announcement plans. With the extraordinary and unprecedented events happening right now, it feels a bit strange to be announcing new concerts, but we want to make sure our fans across the country have a chance to see this tour. We fully understand the gravity of the current situation and honestly don’t know what will happen in the next 10-11 weeks, but we remain hopeful that we will able to perform for you and that the tour will go on as planned.

If anything changes and the health authorities maintain their recommendations to avoid large gatherings of people into the months of May and June, you can count on us to obey all guidelines, reschedule these shows and never put your safety in jeopardy. We truly hope we won’t have to do this and that life will return to normal in time, but at this point, the truth is, we just don’t know.

In the meantime, please stay safe and take care of each other. We will get through this and can’t wait to hang out with all of you very soon!”

First four sold-out shows of SP’s tour with NFG: Simple Plan add new Anaheim date!

It didn’t take long and just within the first few days of tickets being available for the recently announced Simple Plan U.S. tour with New Found Glory called the ‘Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour, four dates are already sold-out: New York City, Boston, Chicago and Anaheim.

But if you’re from California and you missed out on the Anaheim tickets, don’t fret! Due to such popular demand, Simple Plan and New Found Glory decided to add a second show for Anaheim – on June 24th.

Make sure to buy your tickets while you can – the venues are fairly small (from around 1500 to 3500 people) and the line up – Simple Plan, New Found Glory and the opening band Knuckle Puck – is just a pop-punker’s dream come true, so more shows are expected to be sold-out soon.

Simple Plan and New Found Glory announce co-headlining summer tour in the U.S.

Just as we have guessed a few days ago after both Simple Plan and New Found Glory changed their social media profile pictures to the same illustration of a slice of pizza, the two pop-punk legends have just announced a co-headlining tour together!

Simple Plan and New Found Glory will be hitting the U.S. stages in May and June this year with their “Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead” tour and will be tagging Knuckle Puck along as an opening act! That means this is likely to be the first tour that Simple Plan might go on with their new studio album, which is set to be released either in spring or summer 2020.

The tour is also accompanied by a poster, featuring the previously posted illustration of a piece of pizza, which is victoriously levitating over a number of pop-punk loving skeletons. Check out the full version of this poster here.

Be first to get the tickets for this tour by using the pre-sale code PPND – pre-sale tickets are already available here.
