Setlist of Simple Plan’s tour in Mexico

After more than half a year of not setting foot on a stage and also for the first time “out of the country” (if we don’t count the two countries SP members reside in – Canada and the U.S.) ever since COVID hit, the boys flew to Mexico at the end of last week to perform at one festival and three headlining shows. On Saturday, Simple Plan performed at the Tecato Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey, Mexico and yesterday they finally did their own show in Mexico City (with Papa Roach and Emo Nite). On Wednesday, they will be performing in Guadalajara and Thursday is gonna be a great night for the SP fans in Puebla.

I’m sure many of you are already wondering what the setlist of these shows looks like. Simple Plan are mostly known to sticking to a certain structure of a setlist and only sometimes changing one or two songs. Already we have two setlists available – one from a festival and one from a headlining show. Given that distinction, it’s clear that the festival setlist had to be a bit shorter (15 songs), while the headlining show’s setlist got to be a little longer (17 songs). This longer setlist is what you can be looking at as a guide to what the remaining two shows of the tour may look like.

Below you can check out the full setlist from the headlining show in Mexico City from April 4th. The only difference between this setlist and the festival one was the addition of ‘Take My Hand’ and ‘Where I Belong’:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Shut Up!
3. Jump
4. Addicted
5. Jet Lag
6. Boom!
7. Your Love Is a Lie
8. Welcome to My Life
9. The Antidote
10. Take My Hand
11. Where I Belong
12. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
13. Crazy
14. Summer Paradise
15. What’s New Scooby Doo
16. I’m Just a Kid
17. Perfect

At the Tecato Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey, Simple Plan debuted with the first ever official live performance of ‘The Antidote’. Make sure to check out the video below to see what this performance of SP’s first single off their upcoming album (Harder Than It Looks – comes out May 6th) looked like:

Simple Plan appeared as a special surprise guest at Emo Nite’s 7th anniversary show

On Friday night, the historic venue Avalon Hollywood was swamped with emo kids looking forward to a very special Emo Nite, as the “disco/show” for the lovers of alternative music genres from emo to pop-punk, celebrated it’s 7th anniversary. Because of that, the organizers gathered a bunch of special acts to come celebrate with the pop punk fans and to make this night even more special. The guests, who appeared at Emo Nite’s 7th anniversary show included for instance Gabe Saporta and Vicky T (Cobra Starship), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), State Champs, Oli Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon) and a very special final act: Simple Plan!.

Pierre from Simple Plan first appeared as a guest during State Champs set, singing their song ‘All You Are Is History’ with the band’s lead singer Derek DiScanio. Finally at 1:30am, Simple Plan hit the stage as the final act of the night and performed a set of 8 songs including a special guest appearance by the fore-mentioned Derek DiScanio on the Simple Plan x State Champs song ‘Where i Belong’. Check out the setlist below:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Shut Up!
3. Addicted
4. Welcome To My Life
5. What’s New Scooby Doo?
6. Where I Belong (feat. Derek from Stat Champs)

Simple Plan pre-recorded a future “livestream” in Hollywood and performed The Antidote live for the first time

It didn’t take long and the guys from Simple Plan were at it last night again, performing for a bunch of lucky people at the Bourbon Room Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. The main goal of this “secret” or “private” show was to pre-record a “livestream” with Mola Chills, which is set to are around the 22th December.

In the crowd one could spot a number of influencers and tiktokers as well as a number of Simple Plan fans who got to be there because of Simple Plan’s message on Instagram asking for their (vaccinated) fans to attend this event if they’re around the area at that time. As opposed to the filming of the music video for The Antidote, the attendees didn’t have to sign any NDA this time around, so we’re bringing you a bunch of photos from the show in our gallery as well as the full setlist. As you can see, this was the first time Simple Plan performed The Antidote live all together in front of a crowd:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Shut Up!
3. Addicted
4. Boom!
5. Your Love Is A Lie
6. Welcome To My Life
7. Jet Lag
8. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
9. The Antidote
10. Crazy
11. Where I Belong
12. Summer Paradise
13. What’s New Scooby Doo?
14. I’m Just A Kid
15. Perfect

Thanks to SPB you can also check out the second half of the show (from The Antidote on) on the video below:

Simple Plan performed at Riot Fest for the first time since pandemic started & promised new music in a few weeks!

It took over a year and a half, dozens of canceled shows and lots of nerves but finally, after all that the covid pandemic has brought, Simple Plan were finally able to once again step on the stage for the first time in forever – at Riot Fest in Chicago, IL yesterday, September 19th 2021.

Many fans have been wondering how come Simple Plan have canceled their appearance at the Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead tour with New Found Glory, yet they still decided to go ahead and perform at such a huge festival. The answer is simple – the danger of any of the crew contracting COVID-19 (and therefore endangering the cancelation of more dates) is way smaller at one outdoor festival than it would have been at a month-long tour, where they would have likely interacted with a lot more people in much smaller and enclosed spaces for a much longer time.

But let’s get going with the Riot Fest recap, yeah? The band kicked off their set at 5:30pm local Chicago time and what did the setlist looked like:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Shut Up!
3. Jump
4. Addicted
5. Boom!
6. Your Love Is A Lie
7. Welcome To My Life
8. Jet Lag
9. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
10. Crazy
11. Where I Belong
12. What’s New Scooby Doo?
13. I’m Just A Kid
14. Perfect

And do we have any first-hand scoops from the show? Of course we do! Our long-time reader May was there and she let us know that Pierre mentioned on the stage that the band will be releasing “new stuff in a few weeks” – turning the band’s “soon” into something slightly more concrete and less vague. According to May, Pierre did not specify whether that meant new song or new album, but we can definitely count on the word “music”.

In our gallery you can finally have a look at some of the first photos posted on Simple Plan’s official accounts from their appearance at Riot Fest:

And finally, get a glimpse at what being at a Simple Plan show in 2021 is like and check out this video capturing the band performing I’m Just A Kid at Riot Fest yesterday. Enjoy:

Recap of Simple Plan’s UK tour: band teases a possible European tour in the fall!

A week has gone by and by now, the members of Simple Plan have already packed their bags are headed back home across the big pond, after their 6-stop UK tour with Bowling For Soup, where they’ve visited Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, London and Brighton.

This pretty much sold-out tour (the only not sold-out date was Brighton) entitled ‘Together Again: You’re Welcome’ brought together old friends Bowling For Soup and Simple Plan on tour for the first time in almost 16 years. The result of it was a jam-packed night in every city they’ve visited and thousands of happy pop-punk fans.

Over the course of the tour, Simple Plan’s setlist has remained the same pretty much every night, besides Manchester, where Pierre apparently performed a cover of Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’. The setlist was of course much shorter than Simple Plan’s regular show setlists, as they were the opening band on this tour:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jump
3. Welcome To My Life
4. Shut Up!
5. Boom!
6. Addicted
7. What’s New Scooby Doo?
8. Summer Paradise
9. Where I Belong
10. I’m Just A Kid
11. Perfect

The most important news that we can share with you from our attendance of the Simple Plan show in London, is that on stage Pierre mentioned that the band plans to return to Europe for a proper tour by the end of the year, hopefully around fall. For the dates however, we’re going to have to wait for a bit.

Until then, make sure to browse through the following albums in our gallery for some of the first photos from the Simple Plan/Bowling For Soup UK tour:
